All this piping

As you all know, turbo engines are a vast network of pipes and tubes carrying all manner of fluids and pressurized air. I have a simple question, has anyone upgraded any of their "plumbing" much the way many upgrade regular brake lines to braided steel ones? I see lots of aftermarket piping on other makes with turbo engines.

Just curious, thanks for any help!

I've been thinking about it especially around my intercooler area. I'm convinced that I have a pinhole leak somewhere in one of those pipes.

I don't think I have a leak in my piping but I'm about to upgrade my turbo's, as I do have a boost leak at the wastegate, and wondering if piping upgrades would help move air better.

For people with upgraded twins, the post compressor/pre IC pipes are pathetically small. Probably 1.5" pipes maximum. There has to be power there.

Just look over by where the turbos are. There are outlets from each compressor housing, and they can't be more than 1.5" each. I didn't do the math, but pretty sure that they are not as large as 1 2.5" pipe. Maybe the length is so short it isn't that huge of a deal, but I'd think it would start to be a problem for higher power cars.

Obviously when you upgrade your FMIC, the associated piping (intake/output elbows) and clamps get upgraded, most people also upgraded their charge pipes (for high boost or meth applications) & DVs/BOVs, but I'm not sure what other piping (DPs, Exhaust?) you're talking about
