19s in front - 20s in rear on an XI ???

Anyone know if you can run 19" wheels up front and 20" wheels in the rear on an XI ?

I have a 2011 e92 XI dropped on Eibach pro springs, currently running VMR VB3s (f)19x8.5 - 235/35/19 and (r) 19x10 - 265/30/19 with no issues.

Since VMR released a 20" VB3, I'm thinking about going to 20s in the rear if possible.

Would this cause issues with the AWD?

No. Just use a 265/25/20 or 275/25/20 rear tire.

Why not 20" in the front too?

you can do it with proper tire sizing, but why? itll have rubber bands for tires in the rear and "normal" tires up front... this will make the 20s look even bigger and the 19s look smaller.

a friend of mine has this on his XI (19"x9" front, 20"x10" rear, small tires on both - so his front dips down a bit), he says his DTC (dynamic traction control) is out of sync and caused an error and it goes away when he turns off DTC. He's only had this setup for about 2 months so there's no indication yet of any differential problems or any adverse effects, but it seems to be running fairly good for now.

If there's an error and he continues to do it, he deserves to have his transfer case blow. That's seriously dumb.

I'm not looking for drivability problems. I bent a rear wheel, other 3 are fine. VMR VB3s in the size and color I need are back ordered till August, last I checked.

Was thinking about just going to 20s in the rear and sell the brand new Generals I just put on my 19s.

Ugh!

Well if you're going to do it, this is the way.

25, not 20... but yeah, it's not worth it.
