Mixing gas and JB4

Okay guys, I had a couple quick questions regarding mixing 93 octane and E85. I ran strictly E85 before in my evo and have it on hand, 1 mile down the road. With that being said, I have seen that a 30% mix of E85 is appropriate for map 5 use. Now if I am filling my tank all the way, I should get 10 gallons of 93 and 3 gallons of E85 to make the mixture?

Tell me what do to guys!

What a lot of guys are oing is taking the car to 1/8th tank and then putting in 10 gals of 93 and then 4 gals of E85. I have been using map5 but others say map 2 with E85 provides higher HP and torque....I can tell you this though...map 5 will give you one he'll of a kick! Haven't tried map 2 yet with E85.

Here is a thread about mixing:

I am working on a custom map 6 for this map to see how it will work out, just waiting on some DCI's to finalize it, and then I will be posting up the settings for you other guys to try it.

Hell yeah!!! I want to do this bad, would the 25-30% mix be enough for your map you're working on?

I do a 70/30 mix of 93/e85.

I tried a 50/50 mix but my car got fuel mixture codes thrown at it.. so the most I am doing is the 70/30 .

Does anyone have any measured gains to help show what you could expect from the 70/30 mix?

that's more then a 70/30 mix. With 10 gallons you should only be putting in 3 gallons of e85.

Simple math people.

Let's say you are getting 6 gallons of 93, you would then add 1.8 gallons of e85 to make it 70/30

6 *.3 = 1.8

Umm, simple math tells me that we need to figure our percentages from the TOTAL gallons we pump, not just part of it. So if you pump 6 gallons total, then yes 1.8 gallons of that should be E85 for a 70/30 mix... but if you added 1.8 gallons of E85 on top of 6 gallons of 93, that is 7.8 gallons total, and 30% of 7.8 gallons is 2.34, not 1.8

So if you were to pump 14 gallons total, like robc1976 and I are doing, 30% of that is actually 4.2 gallons...

But just to make things easier at the pump, I've been running 10/4 which is actually 29%

E85 is no joke...I am FBO Cobb Stage 2+ on (91 no meth) and I lost to Kkash pretty bad..his car is much faster than mine..even with no mods and just tune + E85

I've been running 11 gals 93 4 gals E85 with a JB4 car Map 2 (14.5 psi) just a DCI and the logs look great. No timing drops, lots of power although I did bump my open loop fueling to 95 to make sure I wasnt maxing out my fuel trims.

I am testing ths now...map 5 is strong for sure. Map 2 you should have Dps & FMIC WICH MAY BE WHY MAP 5 is stronger for you...I had only dci and tried running map 2 and it was not as powerful as map 5 but when I added Dps & FMIC it was a totally different ball game!

I just tried it on Map 7 - holy shit. Logged and sent to Terry for his feedback. I would suggest not doing it tho. Just doing an experiment. But my boost gauge read up to 18 PSI at one point.

Yeah wait till I hear back from Terry, then Ill shot you a PM on my settings I have for my car. I would stick to Map 2, Map 5 is dynamic so it's always changing.. which is ok for daily driving but if you are racing someone.. not so much.

I roll raced a buddy of mine on Map 5 and he would pull me hard, but soon as I switched to Map 2 I would pull him.

So it really depends on your style of driving..
