335i with 19" street tires: 0-60 in 3.9 sec
So I just picked up a P-Box yesterday. I plan to do a bit of testing/tuning optimization at some point...but today I just wanted to play around with it and so I plugged it in and drove a couple miles to warm up the motor and do some base 0-60 runs. I know many people could care less about 0-60 runs but the magazine's still emphasize them. I will definitely do some 60-130's later when I can get down to Mexico or on the straight at Big Willow.
Car is a 2010 e92 335i 6AT. Mods are in my signature. I'm running Stage 2 11-25 Procede maps. The Procede traction control setting was set at 45. My boost curve has been customized through the user adjustible parameters to stay at or below 13psi up until 4,500 rpm and then it increases to ~ 17psi at 4,500 rpm and tapers to 15psi at redline. My first 0-60 run was done in 2nd gear with traction control on. Brake boosted to 2,000 rpm and got a bit of wheel spin and so traction control intevened, the car bogged, and 0-60 took 4.3 seconds. Second run was done with traction control off and I lowered my brake boost to 1,500 rpm. Launch was good with minimal wheel spin but with my low boost setting at the lower rpms, it bogged at bit at the lower rpms but took off like a rocket once I hit 4,500 rpm. Good for a 3.9 second 0-60 time. I tried to go from 1st gear but it just resulted in a lot of wheel spin. My best first gear launch could only get me a 4.1 second 0-60 time, short shifting at around 4,000 rpm. Anyway not sure if it's worth changing the boost profile or other settings to optimize 0-60 but I might do it if I'm bored and try again. I was pleased with the times, especially given that this was done with 19" wheels/tires and the wheels weigh over 29 lbs each! Also, my car is set up for the track with coils and so it doesn't "squat" on the launch like it would with the stock suspension. I'm sure if I tinkered around with the boost, Procede traction setting and suspension, I could be in the 3.5 second range or lower which would be in supercar territory - not bad for a daily driver set up with 19's and RWD. UPDATES: Did a stock (map 0) 0-60 run by starting from first gear and brake boosting to about 1,500 RPM. No wheels spin at all and logged 5.2 seconds. With my traction mods, I can brake boost much more and that would help, but I was a bit surprised the time was so slow. I figured a stock 335i could do 0-60 in about 5.0 seconds...and even though this run was done on stock boost levels, I am running catlezz dps and an intake, plus the LSD and sticky tires. Again the wheel weight must be holding the car back a lot. I did a log of the run and it looks like the stock boost is pretty meager - hitting a peak of 7.5psi and tapering to around 5psi at redline. I posted the log below. I also did a 0-60 run again on map 4, starting in second gear with zero brake boost. Hit 60 in 4.0 seconds. Repeated this a couple times with the exact same result. So it fairly repeatable and easy on the drivetrain. Nice.

With the LSD and the Invo's, off the line traction was good but not great. I would still get a bit of wheel spin but with the LSD you could feel it "biting" to get traction. When I got the PSS, everything came together perfectly....the Procede traction control, LSD and PSS all work together in harmony

and when you say 29lbs each...just for wheels? cause thats just crazy talk...how can your wheels be that heavy lol? must be made of some kind of lead composite alloy.

The car would be dramatically faster with some lighter wheels...which I would do but I'm on the fence about whether to keep the car or go with an M3 (I like to track).

This reminds me of hot rods times he pulled something like 3.3 second run to 60 (I think with nos, don't Remember) so definitely possible to get to that 3.5 second range!

So I just did two more 0-60 runs. One on the stock boost map and another on map 1 (no meth, approx 14.5psi). No warm up, no practice, just done in the evening with light mist on the windshield. Stock boost map: brake boosted to about 2,000 RPM and let her rip. Got a little wheel spin and hit 4.8 seconds. This is compared to the 5.2 seconds I got without brake boosting. Map1: here's the surprising thing. Started in 2nd gear with DSC on. Brake boosted to 2,000 RPM and with the light mist, I got a lot of wheel spin and DSC intervened. Run aborted. Next run, I turned DSC off, brake boosted to 1,500 RPM and let her rip...got a little wheel spin but I could feel the LSD "biting" to keep traction. To my astonishment, I achived 3.9 seconds. WTH?!?!?!? on map 1?? My first 0-60 runs on the meth map were done during the day time and so perhaps running at night (much cooler condition) and with a little dampness to provide some wheel spin clearly helped. I was going to do some meth runs but it started lightly drizzling and became too wet to continue safely. Here's the V-Box of the Map1 run:
