2011 328i xDrive sedan - VMR VB3 18" 8.5 and 9.5
I have a 2011 328i xDrive sedan. I would like to order the VMR VB3 18" rims staggered (8.5" and 9.5").
What are the ideal offsets for the front and rear wheels, and the proper tire sizes for these? I know for the front there is a 40 and 35 option, and for the rear there's 45 and 33. Do I need spacers etc.? One of the posts from VMRWheels I found in a search mentions "On LCI model E90s we recommend going with an ET45 in the rear though instead of an ET33 due to the car's wider track." |

You could easily fit et40 in the front and et 33 in the rear. I have style 219's (oem e9x m3 18" )which are:
Front: 18x8.5 et 29 (tires are currently 245/40 but will be replaced with the proper 225/40) Rears: 18x9.5 et 23 with 255/35 tires there is no rubbing at all with these tires I'm on the oem sport suspension on a pre-lci. If you use the stock tire sizes you shouldnt rub. The track on the LCI is 8mm wider in the front and back on each side therefore: Front offset of 40 on an lci = front offset of 32 on non lci Rear offset of 33 on an lci = rear offset of 25 on non lci Your effective offset would still be a bit less aggressive than what I have on my car. I would go et40 front and et33 rear with the stock tire sizes. Note that the tires will look a bit streched on these wheels but it's a must to fit the rear. If you want to put a wider tire in the back get et45 for the rear. The only potential problem there could be is if they changed the actual suspension geometry and the wheel doesn't camber as much when the suspension compresses, but I can't see that changing very much. |

I've seen people say both front and rear, and some people say just rear...I've been searching for a bit now and I can't seem to find any reliable sources to confirm which is right...weird!
