335i vs 335is

I just sold my 6mt 335i for a DCT 335is, and call me crazy but i feel like 335i was a lithle faster. There is a huge turbo lag on 335is till i hit 3500 rpm way more than the 335i. Is there something wrong with the car or is it just DCT??

Did you go from a coupe to a convertible, if so your problem lies in the gross weight of the vehicle.

You gained roughly 400lbs from doing so. I dont know the exact math but that it comes out to roughly 10hp for every 100lbs ( after a certain weight).

Without getting more detailed the simple fact is the car weighs more.

Remember DCT is so smooth with better traction during shifts that it may feel slower when it isn't. Have you tried it on Sport mode?

It could be BMWs new factory software. I have seen a couple of posts of people stating that they have some "new" found lag after a dealer visit???

Not just that...but at a stop if you are pressing "too hard" on the brake it disengages the clutch and then when you immediately release the brake there is a "delay" as the clutch engages back again.

Next try lightly applying the brake when at a stop, enough just to hold the car stationary.

It also depends on what mode you have the car in. If you have the car in M1 and Sport enable you will have faster reaction.

Wow, seriously...if I step on the brake "to hard" at a stop the car dogs off the line! That's crazy, BMW has to be kidding me, wtf?

If I keep my car in gear at a stop will this disengagement still happen?
