BMW Assist in new Die Hard movie trailer

I was just watching Jay Leno, and they showed a movie clip of Bruce Willis' sidekick stealing a BMW by using the BMW Assist feature. He smashed the front of the car purposely so the airbag deployed. After deployment, a BMW Assist representative called to check on them. They then convinced the BMW rep to turn the car on for them so that they could rush themselves to the hospital. Did anybody else see that movie clip?

No, but don't you need proper info to prove this? Although, it could be possible if you stated you were hurt and what not, maybe the operator would feel bad and let it go.

Yeah, I think thats what they did. He said someone in the car was badly hurt and they needed to get to the hospital right away. When the operator asked what his name was, he pulled out the registration from the glove box and it was some European name that he had trouble pronouncing...hehehe.

I hope some bone head out there doesnt get the idea to try this in real life and steal a BMW. The only thing they ask me when I use it is my name......but I also have a password that I beilve you would have to use in cases like that.

My question is whether or not they really can turn the car on for you? This would really be nice if you lose your fob!

Oh, god. You can bet because of this there are going to be real life copy cats. I hope BMW Assist adopts a password feature for all users in light of this.

No password, no assist from BMW assist. BMW assist won't start the car for
you if you don't provide your password but they'll be happy to send help.

Yea exactly......Remember when your CA asked you to make a password for BMW assist to have incase of things like theft so they could track your vehicle, Im sure they'll ask for your password upon requesting things of a higher risk/security factor.......such as wanting to start your car, which they cant do anyways.

Select theaters were showing it last night, I saw it as well. All the nerds in the theater clapped when the BMW Assist Operator started the car for them...

besides that BMW Assist, that whole piece with the "warden" was hilarious. I cracked up through that entire piece.

Jay- how'd u prepare for Paris's arrival?
Warden- I watched her video over and over again

Jay- how much did she make while in prison?
Warden- about $.75 a day.
Jay- $.75? That's it?
Warden- hey that's more than her cd ever made.

Yeah, that can do incredible stuff like that. I once got a tour of the BMW Assist facility and they have buttons they can push for anything, like "Make your A/C smell like piss," "Lock steering wheel," "Jumble alignment," etc. And for the 335i they have a button for "Blow the fuel pump." I didn't see this one myself, but I hear there's even one titled "Self-destruct."
