Blowdryer

Since majority of this forum is guys, let make this forum girly since I'm a girl. haha!

What kind of blowdryer did you use? ........for your reflectors on your bumper haha!

Geez, I was holding my blowdryer for a good 10 minutes and it still wasn't hot enough for me to peel it. So I left the blowdryer on my tires so it blow directly inside the reflector and talk on the phone for an hour or so...dude it still won't budge.

You guys must have hot blowdryers! Careful when you use it for personal use haha!

Anyways, I'm messing. I'll try it again when I get home from work today or tomorrow.

But big thanks to LONGTRAN! He's the man!

from what I understand you need to peel it back with a tool first, and then it should peel easier as less and less adhesive remains intact... I'd reccomend a screwdriver with a thin towel wrapped around it, just be careful with it. you could try a hard plastic tool like what they use to apply window films, but that's less common to have around the house. i believe hardware stores carry them though.

Longtran's post on how to do it:

Is there any other reason to get a heat gun beside this diy. Thanks for the suggestion, maybe I'll do a dual blowdrying with two blowdryers when I get home haha...

Exclamation

Don't PULL - PUSH That was your problem. It doesn't pull out you push it through. It has a plastic lip around the inside so you can't pull it through you have to push it INTO the wheel well. Put it on one spot for a few minutes and you should start to feel it loosening up. Just watch out as there is a screw on the top that will seem to hold it in. The screw isn't attached to the reflector but sits next to it so if feels tight but once you get past that it should peel back pretty nicely.

If you'd like more help feel free to PM me.

Good Luck!!!

no need for blowdryer or heat gun. when using the heat gun too l ong it will mess up your paint and it will melt stuff.

Depending on how often you work on cars and how creative you are, a heat gun can come in very handy.

haha.. trust me i'm not attractive.

But thanks guys! I tried pushing it, but it didn't budge. Was kind of scare i would bend the thin side of the bumper. But i'm more confident today haha.

I wanted to buy the adhesive to put on the Aero lip but stupid BMW part center closed early.
