Lifespan of rear tires

I was reading on another forum that someone said they only were getting 5,000 miles out of their rear tires on their M3, and they were shocked that they got 9,000 miles out of the rears on their F10 M5. He stated that he had some fun when he could, but it was mainly from regular driving. This will be my first M car. What can I expect for tire life If I drive normal with a little fun thrown in every so often (no track time)

M cars chew up tires quickly, particularly if you drive aggressively. On both my E60 M5 leases (both 36,000 miles over three years) I only had to replace the tires once. I would approximate I get 20,0000 - 24,000 miles out of my tires. I should note I rarely, if ever, spin the tires off the line, just aggressive driving without breaking traction too often. However, I expect my F10 will use tires more quickly than the E60s given the much higher torque available.

In my 2008 M3, I have about 32,000 miles so far and have replaced the tires once so far, at about 17,000 if I'm remembering correctly. I have fun driving, but no track time on the car and not frequently doing launches, etc.
