Motorola V710 Bluetooth recall due to.....

Bluetooth discoverability and general software usability problems...

http://www.engadget.com/entry/4611617850651474/

I had the software upgraded on my V710 this weekend and the bluetooth seemed to work great for a few days, but now it is back to it's old tricks.....not able to discover the BMW bluetooth module

I am going to try and exchange the phone for samsung module..

MTMnet -

Just curious - Did you get a "firmware" upgrade or just reprogramming of the original firmware? Do you have full Bluetooth functionality or still the limited bluetooth profile that Verizon impacted us to have?

Thankx. ACELR8

I had the full firmware upgrade, however I am not sure if it is the full profile or not.

The phone now seems to working fine. If it acts up again, I will replace it with the Samsung and hope for better results.

I've had my V710 since last Sept, I dropped the phone so I got a replacement in around January. Haven't been back in the shop for any other updates. My car is built in July, and Bluetooth works incredibly, no problems whatsoever I even get my phonebook on the iDrive screen.

Hope this will help in some way.

it should be noted that the Engadget link is from october 2004 -- I have followed this phone pretty closely on howardforums.com where a lot of V-710 freaks hang out.

the firmware updates were made available early in '05 -- if someone has a problem, the first step is to get the phone's software upgraded -- it should be free from your cell carrier.
