HELP!!! BMW e92, 335, 2009. Replacment of OEM sound system and CD!!!???
Hi Guys!!!
Really hopping on someone’s help, because I need solution as quick as possible... Here is the problem... The car - BMW e92 coupe, 335, 2009 I wanted to replace full BMW OEM professional sound system and put some real good sound in it. So I gave the car to the sound specialists.... All done, all set up and installed, speakers, sub-woofer, amplifier, CD player, etc... Sound is amazing everything works fine......... BUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! When I came to pick up the car I was told that unfortunately, OEM monitor and iDrive Logic 7 will not work with new Alpina CD player that was replaced instead of OEM CD professional... So the problem is that everything works fine, but they don’t know how to connect the new sound system to OEM monitor and iDrive to keep all the functions working.... Which means that when I turn on the car the monitor stays black and none of the functions of iDrive Logic 7 are working because they can’t be connected to CD player at the moment. Please guys help me out!!!! I need solution or advices how it can be fixes... Maybe someone had experienced or has any information that will help me to solve this problem... Which blocks, or what chips I require to connected together monitor, alpine CD player and iDrive logic 7 system to make it perfectly work and the screen will return its full functionality ... Waiting for your help or any solutions Just in case ... A new CD player is - Alpina CDA-117Ri |

i really hate that they didnt explain that you'd lose your idrive to you. most "specialists" dont know enough about our cars. thats why its critical to do a lot of research yourself beforehand. you dont have to replace your HU to get an amazing sound system!
but im sure theres a way to sort out your problem. have a read of the audio sticky, theres a section on replacing/adding a seperate HU. a few people have done this. or maybe someone else can advise. |

Do a search for Head Unit and Dynavin
Do a search for Head Unit and Dynavin(read the two large Dynavin threads)
The Dynavin is the unit that was used a lot here and the problems associated with any Head Unit replacement in a E9x are the same. What is a an Alpina CD and why did they put in in? You must mean Alpine Head Unit. There are a lot of side effects to replacing the Head Unit. I don't know if you can do it in a Idrive car due to physical restraints. I suppose you could mount the orignal piece in the trunk the way they do with a regular radio but I haven' t seen examples here. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=dynavin Do you have a picture of the setup? I don't think there is anyway to interface it you need to run it as a parallel system if you want it to work. Also are you aware that if you have the original system disconnected dealerships and most Indys will not be able to reprogram and update your car if necessary . This can be necessary for repairs when replacing modules or recalibrating them. You would probably be better off getting the old setup to work then adding something like a Dension gateway 500 and using USB or and ipod for music storage. Then adding amps and speaker to that. Its better to do the research first. Last edited by ctuna; 07-04-2012 at 02:24 PM.. |
