Exclamation Vishnu/FFTEC: E85 testing (415whp with DCI only)

Shiv asked me to give you guys an update on our in-house e85 testing. So far, we have a long-term FBO 335xi 6MT user who has been testing our e85 solution for the last 2 months. The only issue so far is a slipping clutch

Now we have a e90 6AT car that we have been testing (belongs to forum member Roberts5831). The only mods are Procede and DCI. Stock EVERYTHING else. Running a 50/50 blend of e85 and 91oct, his car did this on the dyno yesterday:

His car was one of the more knock prone cars when it ran exclusively on pump gas. In fact, it only made 330whp (and inconsistently at that) on 91oct. The car has 72k miles and is probably in need of a walnut shell blasting. So an extra 85whp isn't bad!

Shiv is taking the car to LA and back this weekend (800 miles round trip) for some extended testing. Just to make sure that there are no issues (fuel mixture codes) during sustained driving. So we should have another update (and more info) for you guys on Monday

Have a great weekend!
Garret

What kind of boost were you hitting on this pull? Numbers and graph look great.

Great results Garrett. 415 on dci and E85 only DAMN!!! I am looking forward to the new maps. So far my car has been running flawless on the E85 maps. I'll bring my car in next week for some updates and testing.

Now all I need is for COBB to release E85 Maps + find a gas station that sells this corn-fuel. Anybody know if Everclear would suffice??

Or you could swap it out for a JB4/Procede and have it now

E85 + Everclear are less expensive then a JB4 or PROcede, plus now is the time to have a COBB AP with ATR, ProTuning + the new Firmware/Map updates (E85/Meth Maps)

Would be nice to see a map 0 comparo run of the same day in the same conditions. Also an AFR trace and a look at the fuel trims would be interesting. Information is pretty useful when testing and discussing, especially now that e85 is really starting to catch on with this platform.

Wow. So basically you have to spend 1k+ on FBO for a 10-20whp gain over tune/dci/E85?? I'll pass on FBO then. Muffler delete here I come

Awful logic, you realize FBO + E85 w/o Meth you're prob mix 400s HP/500 TQ then. Completely depends what your power "goals" are, I sure as shit wouldn't mind an occasional 50 HP bump with E85 though

A Cobb Stage2+ Dyno's around 360-390WHP right? Also, E85 and Meth don't stack, I hope you knew that. Sure you can run both, but the gains are with one or the other.
