Exclamation *HELP* Half Engine Light pops up after becoming FBO

**UPDATE AT PAGE 1, #16**

Hey Guys,

Firstly, let know state my latest mods here:
PSS10, JB4, CP-e DP, ETS FMIC, BMS DCI, BMC OCC and RB's Intake Valve.

I just finished installing all the Mods tonight and surely, what else could be more enjoyable to go out and enjoy the extra power my car got. First off the car got louder, no drone or rasp. Pulling strong and feels great overall, however, after driving for 30 mins or so, having let it settled, i went WOT, then not long after this, the half engine light popped up.

Is this limp mode? or what caused it? I had this before when i went WOT when I only had JB4 and DCI. I thought my lack of performance mod and pushing it too hard caused that. But now, that doesnt seem like it is the case.

Therefore, I am anxious to figure out what causes it that almost everytime i go WOT, I get this light comes on. (Altho i dont flat the gas too often).

Please help me with this and give me some advice!

(Its a 07 335i msport)

Thanks and much appreciated.

B

We can't diagnose or help anything without you reading the codes that were produced when the cel light appeared. Pull the codes from the jb4 and report back.

Sorry, i have never done that before (how exactly do you do it?). Will the code still be there because the half engine light is gone after re-starting my car.

Misfires shouldn't trigger a limp mode.

My guess is boost leak but that's just a wild guess without codes.

Provide codes. And provide more information on exactly what happens/what you feel prior to the car going limp.

^misfires will cause limp mode if they are bad enough while WOT.

Hmm I used to get misfires before changing plugs and I would get the SES light but I never got a limp mode. Mine just may not have been severe enough.

car probably needs a new engine. likely has suspension damage as well.

likely will cost upwards of 5 figures (USD) to repair.

sorry for your loss.

As has been said already, pull the codes and report back.

In the future, add one mod at a time. That way if something creates a malfunction it will be easier to diagnose.

Guys!

Code has been identified as follows:
3100 low boost mode engaged - CEL Displayed
2A87 Outlet-Vanous variable cam control test, mechanics.

So these are the codes, it popped up again instantly when I floored it.

What should I do it. Advice appreciated. Thanks

you can try to clean them first but honestly i would just replace them completely, not that expensive.
