Ripped Off by Customer - Warning to the community and maybe some help finding him!
Not going to get into too much details but did an install and upgrade (to a JB4) for customer along with a couple other things and he said he didn't bring enough money (misunderstood the amount owing according to him), so he paid me a part and I told him to paypal me the rest when he got home that evening. Well its been 2-weeks and my txt's and calls are being ignored so obviously he has no intention on settling up. (Based on the amount of time which has passed and his attitude towards me when I was doing the work for him)
I am wondering if anybody knows this guy Adrian Sang 416-271-88XX Drives a black 135i and I believe he lives in Richmond Hill / Markham Also a warning to the community not to deal with him as I know he is buying and selling some used things. I don't know his e90 screen name but hopefully we can figure out who this is. Its now more about the principle of it as in 3-4 years of business this is the first person to every rip me off. I am probably too trusting as I let customers pay like that a lot and never had any problems as everybody has been great to deal with and always settled their account within a day or two. I guess there always is a "bad" seed. The amount owing isn't anything to loose sleep over but like I said the principle of it is eating away at me. Mike |

His e90post username is: karkid
jokes aside, this is pretty lame. I'd check kijiji for 335i related ad's with his number listed.

This should work if he has or had any ads posted in the past anywhere. My buddy did the same thing when he got ripped off by a guy on kijiji and found him selling something else, needless to say he got his money back and scared the shit out of the guy when he showed up.

Really sorry to hear that Mike...
Pisses me off because I feel bad that I always pay you when I pick-up. Ruins it for us guys with good intentions and for the community as a whole. Hope you find this loser and get your $$. We'll keep are eyes open for plate # should you find it. N |

Mike there's 2 options here:
1. File a complaint with the local PD (can't remember where the closest one is to your place). I know if I was in your shoes that's the first thing I would do. You have his phone number and you likely have his license plate (even if you don't the phone number should be enough). Let the local PD handle it. OR 2. Post on RFD - you know RFD has amazing detectives. I'm sure someone will trace the phone number and get you the necessary information to show up at his doorsteps |

You seem to be an honest person who trusts others since the majority of our community are also honest enthusiasts like yourself. It sucks when one person like this comes along and just ruins everything.
Regardless of the amount I too would be bothered that something like this happened and it would bug me for quite some time knowing that I was just being kind and trusting towards someone and they think they are slick and somehow outsmarted me. We should all chip in and do what we can do to get some info on this guy.

We got to find out who this is and deal with him, because it ruins the trust Mike has with the rest of us.
I wouldn't blame Mike if he was getting more strict with us, and if he does, this guy has to pay for braking the trust that Mike has with us.

i know its sometimes hard to know who to trust, but in future if the guy is going to paypal you balance, tell him to use your computer to do it on the spot, if gives you a line about only doing it from his computer (safe etc) then ask him why should you have to trust him if he doesnt want to trust your computer? you can even do it now on your smart phone, or drive him to bank, it sucks but in this economy people will screw over their own grandmother.

I don't think this is a reflection of the community as a whole, just one bad person. Will update you guys if there is any progress made on this. Mike |
