Procede versus RD Sport Blackbox
How does the Procede compare to the RD Sport Blackbox w/ regard to:
1. Total maximum boost 2. A/F ratios 3. Timing 4. Reliability 5. Cost 6. Upgrade ability Do either piggybacks change the DTC, rev limit or maximum speed? Finally, where in the Los Angeles area can you get the Procede or Blackbox installed? |

He wants me to provide his mechanic with our proprietary tuning software and to train him on how to use it. So he can tune his car which is now modified with an intake, intercooler and downpipes. We will never do this for a number of reasons. Only one of them being IP related. One major reason is because our software no longer uses an intuitive interface. It's been developed for internal use only. Giving someone a crash course in any subject with books printed in another language isn't the best idea. We've talked to his mechanic and he understands the situation. Unfortunately, schneid4323 doesn't approve of our decision.

And I dont appreciate your Michael Moore style presentation of the situtation. Yes i wanted you to provide us with the software AND STILL DO, but we have tried to come up with other options, which you agreed to (And would cost me an arm and a leg) and then failed to follow up on. |

..wow this thread got off track fast! I was thinking about the Procede but I never rec'd a response from any of my emails from months ago. I have heard only positive things about RD Sport but not many people seem to have their product. Maybe it's best to wait for Dinan, MTH, or BMW ECU reflash. BTW, are fuel pump failures more common with Procede or other piggybacks?

There does not appear to be a concensus on what's causing HPFP failures. There has been discussion about alcohol in US fuels, faulty components etc.. It seems that if you increase boost (more air) you need more fuel and the fuel pump needs to work harder.

how about both of you stop being childish and talk about this in private. We don't give a flying F*ck about what happened. No offense to you guys, it's just something we don't need to hear.

I don't see a problem. Shiv is willing to tune the car but schneid is offended because his requests have not been answered. Make an appointment and have your car tuned from Shiv .

It seems to me schneid is ok. Just understand that a custom tune will be only possible from Shiv in person and will cost a noticeable amount of money. Shiv somewhere wrote they need the car for 3 days ...

When Shiv had the Exede for the Evo you could tune it yourself which was a nice feature to have. I was under the impression the Procede was going to be the same way. Since, it isn't the more relevant questions are:
Is any tuner RD sport included going to give you the software to tune it yourself? And How many of you really feel comfortable doing it yourself? I would venture to say the answers are "No" and "not many". Also with the Evo he had several off the shelf maps available for different combinations of mods. You could just download them and plug them in and be fairly close. I would hope that eventually this same type of service would be available for this car since, no one wants to wait to install a part until a tuner makes his annual visit to within 300 miles of their area. I think it will take time to develop the map data base though. Last edited by hotrod2448; 07-13-2007 at 04:13 PM.. |
