Spotted the new M3

Think i spotted the new M3 while over in Vegas. Only managed to get a few snaps as it pulled away from us. Sounded very nice although a bit muted. He was progressing nicely through the strip traffic

Good spot.

It looks very wide at the rear.

Hopefully come production they add a bit more aggression to the looks.

Good spot! Makes me want to go back to Vegas again now!

Seems a bit odd they are camouflaging the car and then driving it down the Vegas strip..........not exactly hiding it are they?

Another member posted some pictures as well, I believe he was in California. Good spot and I'm glad to see them out testing in the real world.

I don't think the pics did it justice. It looked quiet aggressive in real life, maybe the camo hides the curves/angles in the pictures

If you're talking about the black and white swirls then no lol - its to disguise the lines of the body work :P

Yep its a camouflage for when they get to the stage of public road/track testing. What i meant by the paint job being crap is the Black paint was not like the nicely finished paint you'll get on a production model, it looked flat and well used. The swirls do a really good job of hiding the curves and lines in photos.

The rear is very wide, i didn't catch it from the front as we were turning off. But apparently they are testing a new front end

What's funny though is those camo vinyls just draw attention to it, if they just painted it silver and put standard wheels on I bet you wouldn't have looked twice at it, or at least 99% of joe public wouldn't.

Exactly what i was thinking. Not sure if its more to do with other car manufacturers/media photos rather than joe public?

Well spotted and nice location....I like Vegas

To be honest, it doesn't look vastly different to the current 4-door M3 does it? I'm sure in reality it will be different but who else keeps mistaking them for 5er's? No?...just me then!

Yep i agree they can look very similar. I prefer the look of the new 5er over the 3er, due to the front end.

Now you have said it, comparing it to the e90 M3 no it doesn't appear that much different from the rear. The sides and the 3 different front ends, i've seen in various spy photos do look quiet a bit different.

1st time here for me. The wife is working out here for a while and wanted the company so was supposed to be a 'cheap' couple of weeks for me, but Vegas has managed to extract large amounts of cash from me. Very different to other states i've been to. Not sure my bank account can survive the 6 days i've got left here.

Loving it though.

Strange why BMW develop the four door first. When I'd imagine the coupe out sells it.

Well they have to have the base car to start with first! The E92 replacement is still a fair way off
