E85 is in the tank
Took the E85 plunge… only 20 miles from my house, so don’t know why it took me so long.
Below are logs off meth and on meth… back to back runs. I’m running 30% E85 and my goal was to pick tuning that would be very compatible with or without E85… in case I can’t find a station. Without it, the tuning would be a little aggressive, but not too bad. And trims look very good off corn juice also. The setup is 1.12 scalar with ATR with slightly higher load (around 145 peak) then stock. Procede open loop table is custom and lowish settings of 60 and 50%. I have a very conservative setup, as there was no timing reduction remotely in sight in 100deg weather. I’m going to keep it here for now, until I finally get around to replacing the clutch… colder weather will probably make this a necessity. This is roughly a 390HP setup in 100deg weather. Pretty strong I think, but also conservative (which I like). E85 is great! |

There is no set increase in horsepower as it depends on your mix % and other factors. Most are seeing 40-60whp gains as a rough estimate, coming from pump 91-93. E85 by itself is 104 octane (I believe, feel free to correct me anyone) and when mixed with the pump it allows for more agressive timing/boost.

E85 is no substitute for real race fuel.
E85 due to its cooling abilities Acts similar to 104-105 octane but is Not the same. E85 is great cause it's cheap and provides gains similar to Race fuel. However you will always yield better results and power with the real deal. |

Race Gas + E85 FTW!
I actually have no idea how that'd work out, but worth experimenting |

E85 is around 96 octane, but behaves more like 100+ since the added volume cools the A/F mix and it burns colder.
You can max the stock turbos out on E85 50-50 mix alone. |

Shit is great. Power is insane and consistent. IMO I recommend all of us running a tank through the system once. |

I'll wait for temps to come down into the 60-70s so the heat doesn't steal any HP & the car is less knock prone

im going to take a ride out and grab 8 gallons of e85. Would it be a bad idea to switch from cobb stage 2 agg to stage 2+ agg for this tank? Would be a 50/50 mix of 93 and e85. I have AR dp's, injen intake, bmw perf axle back, currently on stage 2 aggressive. I dont see any reason the car couldnt run perfectly fine on the +fmic map. With the cooling abilities e85 would add and the increased octane it should run beautifully

When using E85, you're significantly less prone to knock/timing corrections then when using 93 octane. ESPECIALLY when the heat goes up.
I had my car ProTune'd yesterday in Maryland by Jake@PTF & had a Pump Gas Map Made (93 octane only) and an E85 Map (25%) & it was 95-100* degrees out while street tuning. The heat def limited us with the Pump Gas Map, but when we did the E85 Map we were able to push the car a little harder because of it's cooling affect & how much of an impact it has on raising the octane/eliminating timing corrections. |
