Will an offset of 20 fit an '07 335?

I'm sure there are other threads that may break this down, but I'm looking for a quick answer before I purchase some wheels. The wheel sizes are 18x8.5f/18x9.5r w/an offset of 20 all around. The lady who sells them are adamant that they won't fit (of course she's not into the mod scene). Also, the tire sizes are 225/35f - 255/35r.

Help w/a quick answer!!!

Yes, they will fit. Should be 225/40 front though.

225/40 is what I currently have. I just thought /35 would look better and match the rears.

BTW, could you explain what offset is and if there's anything I should be aware of when going w/something other than stock? I think I have an idea and I will still google it. Just wondered if you/anyone had a short version.

225/35's are pretty short. I recommend getting a 225/40 at least. To put it simple, offset is how the wheel will sit relative to your fenders. High number will mean that the wheel will sit closer to the center of your car while a low number will sit closer to your fenders. The +20 offsets are definitely on the aggressive side.

Also in terms of tire size, the tire profile is a percentage of the width. So a 255/35 will sit taller than a 225/35 even with the same profile. Hope this helps you out!

Yes it did thank you! Not to mention noticing the offset calculator at the top of the page. LOL! Doh! I was going w/the profile size of /40 but my husband (you men...hehehe) thought it looked funny and suggested I match the rears. I'm not a big fan of low profiles anyway, so I'm good w/40. Will I need to roll my fenders at the 20 offset?

Donīt know for sure, but you might need to roll your rear fenders a little bit with 9.5 et20 and 255/35/18. Otherwise it might rub sometimes.

I have 18x9.5 et 20 and havenīt rolled my fenders, but i have 235/40/18 at rear.Im lowered with HR sport and no rubbing.

Don't have a problem w/rolling if need be. I do have stock sport suspension - not sure if that matters.

Also, should I remove the 12mm-f/15mm-r spacers and will I be able to re-use either the stock bolts or the long ones currently used w/the spacers?

On the other side of this - these wheels are made for 5/7 series. Does anyone know if I'll need hubcentric rings and if so, what size?

You canīt really know will it rub or not before you drive with that setup.
Even i canīt be sure that my setup wont rub if i drive with full load.

Ride height is one thing which affect the possibility to rub.

You need to take out spacers otherwise your offset would be 8.5 et 8 front and 9.5 et5 rear.

Your car hub bore is 72.6. You need to ask the seller what is the hub bore size. Some 5-series have 74.1 like BMW E39.

After hitting "send", I realized that the spacers will have to come off - pushes them out way too much. But I would probably need to use the extended bolts? And, that bore size issue is a pain! There ought to be a chart somewhere that shows every models' bore size, offset, etc. for those who are interested in going outside the OEM-box.

No need for longer bolts.

You probably can use stock bolts. Depends of the bolt shape

Stock bolts are conical seat atleast with 3-series. Ask what bolts seller is using. If he/she uses stock bolts you can probably too, depends at shape of the bolt seat.

There isnīt that many models with 74.1mm hub bore, but if the wheels are aftermarket it still could have different hub bore even if the seller car is 72.6
This you need to ask from seller.

Are the wheels original bmw?
