Cornering Lights on LCI Xenon Headlamps
Hey Guys, Its been a while since ive been on here.
When i was pulling into the IGA last night i saw a LCI 335 sedan turning right out of the carpark. Biggest thing i noticed on the car other than the grubby wheels was the cornering lamps that came on. Tried doing the same thing with my LCI equiped with Xenons but it didnt wanna work. More for curiousity rather than anything i was wondering if its possible to retrofit this feature onto my 320d? Had a closer looksy at the headlamps and it looks like the actual light is already installed in the headlight unit but BMW have prob got a module to control them Cheers Dan

I don't get it?
What's a cornering lamp? Not adaptive headlights that move with the steering wheel? |

Have a look at your headlight unit, the adaptive ones look different to standard.
Standard Adaptive If you look at the first picture, the standard headlight has the main xenon bulb in the outer ring, and an empty inner ring. However the adaptive headlight has the xenon in the outer ring, and that funny looking glass cover over the inner ring. Whether or not you can retrofit it/code it in I don't know, but the actual headlight assemblies are different. |

Both Xenon Headlights and Adaptive Headlights were standard on 330d and above, and optional on other models (in 2009). Xenon (but not Adaptive) Headlights were included in the Innovations Package.
Edit: This comment refers to Oz spec cars in 2009. Note that there were changes to the Innovations Package from year to year. Last edited by bcoz; 08-18-2012 at 12:39 AM.. Reason: This comment refers to Oz spec cars in 2009 |

My 2007 e90 323i has them. I remember when i first saw the car out of curiosity i asked the dealer to turn the steering wheel with the lights on and sure enough they moved to my delight.

crap wish they gave corner lights on the standard xenon atleast, the vw/skoda use fog lamps for corner lights, is there a way we can code the inner lights to come on for corners?
Thanks.. |

My 07 320i has the innovations package and my lights are definitely adaptive xenons.
