My M-Sport has been built

Just got off the phone with my dealer who DID call me as promised. After all this time waiting, I have a VIN, the build tracking website states that my car will be fully ready at plant on 30/08 at 1000.

So all you M-Sport people, we have a car coming very soon - finally!!!!
Check with your dealers.

You guys are the first people I am sharing this great news with.
Next stop - the shipping of my car from Rosslyn to Australia.
If all goes well, I could see my new F30 car late September or early October.

Congrats! that is great news!!
Did the dealer mention how long the shipping is going to take?
I assume it'd be 6~8 weeks (up to ~2 weeks to be picked up from port in SA, ~4 weeks for the shipping and another 2 weeks to clear customs)

Thanks.
No shipping date just yet, but I'm sure they will update me with the info.

Thanks. Sure will be. What a LONG wait just for this day. At least there will be movement now.

Could be on the same ship keeping each other company. Let's hope. Oh I really do hope end September delivery, but based on my E90, it was May (05) build with July delivery.

If I keep thinking around 6-8 weeks from end of this week, then I won't be disappointed if it doesn't arrive at the end of September. I am expecting mid October delivery.

Can you imagine the wild parties those cars are going to have if they are on the same ship together. Excitement builds again.

Hi Guys

Very excited with my first BMW! Went in for the 328i M-Sport! Being reading the forums since I took the plunge in July. It's great that we have finally got some news regarding our cars. I received a email in early August that my 328i M-Sport had begun its production! Very exciting indeed!

After reading this thread I contacted my BMW Sales Person to get a VIN number however they just said that they would provide me with a tracking number once its on its way Down Under. I am dealing with Auto Classic in Perth who seem to have a bad reputation on communication with its customers.

Anyone else dealing with them? And more importantly should I push for a VIN number to be given to me? I would really like to track the progress of the car. The anxiety it killing me!!!!

Just a question - is this build tracking website public? I've just got my VIN and am wondering how I can track/investigate etc

Well I haven't been contacted by my dealer but definitely push for it if u wish. I do not see an issue at all the customer is always right.

I would say that we do lack the attention we deserve.

If i do not get my car on the agreed month I will ask for some sort of compensation. aka Performance Parts, and it better not be a fcking gear knob.

my 2 c

+1

If I manage to get my VIN.

I agree...the lack communication is not ideal. It seems everywhere else gets regular updates....

Not progress. Only after it's been built. In the USA, they can log into the BMW website for updates as to the build progress of their car. Not that it's up to date, but better than what we have here - nothing!!

Cheers
