HK rattling side skirts

For anyone that listens to music with a lot of bass I know this has come up as an annoyance. On the inside its barely noticeable but turn up your radio and step outside the car and you will hear very ugly rattling coming from the side skirts.
Curious if anyone found any workarounds or temp fixes?

Take it to you dealer. This is a 50k+ car. they'd better sort that out. Its not suppose to sound like a chintzy rice rocket when you crank music.

Ok Wayman519 thanks for the response. Looks like my situation is an anomaly and not the norm for stock f30s. Will check in with the dealer. When I touch the rear part of the side skirts they wiggle. Does yours ?

Yeah I brought it in couple months back. The rattle it turns out was inside the front passenger door panel. Something wasn't sealed properly. No more rattling.

Im actually relieved I'm not the only one ... im here in Malawi and had a custom install done before my car was imported , the side skirt / door rattle is killin me ...inside its perfect , but if you're outside it sounds like an 86 Toyota corolla with a budget boom box

any genuine solutions on this (DIY ofcourse)

Has anyone tried pulling the under-seat subs, adding dynamat, then re-install?

what i tried to do while standing outside is pushing the side skirt up towards the car and it helps.... so its something between the skirt and where it attaches.... i think the skirt has to be remove in order to fix it.

Have the very same issue here in Perth, Australia on my 2013 F30 328i with HK sound. Rattling was unbearable so I took my Beemer back to the dealer where they apparently added foam into the side skirts. Fixed the problem from about a month, now the issue is back. Will bring it up again with the dealer at my next service.

Annoys me, as it must annoy everyone else! This sound system by HK was apparently designed together with the birth of the F30! Hmm...

I had the same issue in Sydney, they said it was a common problem. They fixed and it has come back so they to add more foam and seal I think.

Same here. I think this is "normal". The side skirts are probably only attached in a few places. You can wiggle them. I would think removing them and putting 3M tape the full length would fix it.

Who's gonna try it first?

My car has just gone in again as a result of this issue.

I'll let you know what they've done.
