Flash Guns for Cannon

Need to replace my flash gun asap as need one for Sundays christening of my little one.

Any recomedaitons of a good one for a cannon 550D that want break the bank or me when the "boss " finds out

I would always just go for a Canon 430ex?

Speedlite 430EX and above, it costs a few £££ but the results are worth it.....just tell the boss it will make her look even prettier in all the photos.
