Montego/Beige Auto Power/Heated Satellite MSRP 36,000 and change 2100 off sticker 3 yr/36,000 lease 4000 total down 389/month I'm feeling good...any thoughts from others? My friend at BMW says this is VERY competitive. Your opinions are valued. |

328 sedan is the bread and butter of the company, imho that discount is small as now there can be 30+ 328 sedans in stock. If a 335 coupe can be 1700 off, 328 sedan should be relatively more discounted....my .02 not sure if because your car is a base model with no options, maybe the discount is less

IMO, good deal is you pay stiker price out the door, meaning include the tax.
John 070: so, now if we buy 335 coupe, we could get 1700 off?! I thought they always say no discount for that car...

Oh really? that's interesting. Would it make different if you work down from MSRP or work up the invoice?

I'm not positive how much off on coupe, but I do know the dealer tends to not give much at first, and 2-3 days later they will discount. I figure with so many 328 RWD's in stock, there is plenty of room to discount. e90 330's were 2400 off about 13 mos. ago, so I figure a 328 would be more than that. The discount is not too proportional to selling price, but I don't know if it's less on a stripped car. On a 328, don't be afraid to lowball, again, chances are there are 30 to choose among, so they'll do a lot to sell them.

+1 always start off working from the invoice price
Quote:
The amount off on a car (including the coupe) is going to vary to some extent from dealer to dealer, salesperson to salesperson, and buyer to buyer. My CA offered me $2k off MSRP on an E92 335i back in February. This was when most board members were paying near sticker. As long as you have patience, you can find the car you want for a good price. If the first dealer won't budge, chances are there's another that will. The idea with going up from invoice, is there's no chance for them to pad the price. Also, hearing "I'll pay $1k over invoice" sounds better then saying "I want $3k off MSRP". The former sounds as if you're trying to help make them money.
