How are your 20s holding up?

Curious how the 20s are doing in day to day driving. Just took delivery today and purchased wheel and tire insurance but have been driving gingerly. how are your wheel holding up so far?

No issues whatsoever. Many folks out here already have 21s, so the stock 20s seem perfectly fine.

3000 miles on mine. No issues on not the greatest roads. Can't say the same about front left lower bumper.

Not a scratch, and I never buy wheel insurance.

5000+ miles - no issues 50% of those miles are commute miles. There are plenty of poorly maintained roads where I live, but essentially no parallel parking. It is so hard to keep the wheels clean right now that I couldn't imagine managing to clean all the spokes on the 19s.

re

Thanks for the responses. I guess its going to take some time getting used to the mass and force of the car. ive been cringing hitting potholes after listening to story after story about blowouts on 550i and 750i sports with goodyear runflats. i do believe that the michelins ps series hold up much better than a run flat. The issue with the runflats, or goodyear run flats, in the nyc area is that the actual runflat material breaks or cracks upon impact causing a tire bubble and blowout.

I'm fearful too, and mine is coming with 20s. The roads in the North East are absolute garbage. Third world country bad. Especially right now with the freeze and plows leaving gaping craters you can't see under small puddles.

Even being prudent you cant avoid all of the, So I think that I will opt for the wheel/tire package just for peace of mind, and will get a set of 19s with snows for next winter.

No issues here. 7k miles and lowered on h&r springs. 20s are very comfortable on this car.

That rear tire is super low profile. 295/30. The rears would be the ones to watch.

what problem have you had here? I had to have my bumper re-sprayed as it had loads of stone chips. but strangely only on one side.

With the temperature being around 5 degree Celsius and rain pouring so hard, I have to drive with extreme cautions every time I take off or they just spin badly.

Actually the 30 series in the super sports is quite thick... the guys running 305x25x20's and 295x25x20's have to worry a bit more but that set up is a plus size for cars that come with stock 19's and 30 series tires. (mostly on AMG benzes).

I scraped the lower left side. Not sure when it happened. I also have a ton of stone chips.

Hit pot hole turning 20 miles an hour into a side street an hour ripped the side wall passenger front at 500 miles in. No rim damage luckily. BMW with the 4 dealers within 100 miles had no tire until next week. BMW roadside refuses to drop the car to the STS tire place that has it in stock within 30 miles. Drop it to bmw Morristown get my wife to pick up the tire and have to have argument with the service guy who starts down the road that they can only install tire they buy. He came around in the end but why does it need to be so hard.

Luckily I'm 1 tire into 5 I need to loose in 5 years to make the tire insurance worth it. It's only been 1 week.
