Finally... Just bought an F30!

Hi All,

Nuisance post, but for those of you that know me, I have been dicking around for months trying to decide whether to upgrade my current E90 335i to a new F30 335i..

Just bit the bullet and bought a demo 2012 335i, in Silver with Modern Line.. essentially bog stock, but that will change soon enough!

End of pointless post.. bring on collection in a week or two!

Cheers

Chris

Thanks guys..... Interestingly I had a call with the missus this afternoon at which point I promised that there would be no modifications to this one, immediately after I was building out the shopping list! So far, the following are going to be fitted shortly after delivery:

- H&R Sport Springs
- BMW Performance Exhaust
- JB4
- AFE Intake
- BMW Performance Steering Wheel
- Matt Black Grills

Afterwhich I need to start looking into some forged 19's and either transfering over my current LSD, or getting a new one (presuming that I'll have to do the later).

The car is a modern line and has the cream dash / steering wheel (but black column plastics!!) it looks horrid, but for what I paid for the car, I dont care.. the steering wheel will fix the majority of the cosmetics, the rest I'll just have to live with.

Interested in people's thoughts on the BMW Performance BBK.. seems to be mixed feedback, and that its mainly a cosmetic upgrade, has anyone retrofitted these in AU? Also wondering if anyone has retrofitted a reversing camera as yet (the one thing that this car REALLY needed, but didnt have!).

Only thing that is a real bummer is the lack of HUD, all the demo's I drove had it, but again, musn't complain!

Now... who wants to buy my E90 335i?

90% of the time, the HUD just displays a digital speed. That's all. Very, very basic. It comes in very handy when using the navigation as the info on the HUD differs - enhances - what is displayed on the screen.

I do have all the HUD display option boxes ticked, so when I am having my car coded, I will be looking for some additional features to be displayed such as indicators and even digital tacho & selected gear if possible.

True.. but 90% of the time my penis stays in my pants, 10% of the time it's very handy.. same goes with the HUD, its not a necessity and it is perhaps a little "crude" but it still is fun.

(and its probably closer to 99/1 ratio on the penis)

The old "I'll never mod my car again" line. Surprised she bought it

Congrats man. We're in a small minority, but I'm glad I went for the 335i over the 328i. I also bought mine from dealer stock. The only box it didn't tick for me was suspension, but that's easily solved with a M performance retrofit.

Is there a big difference in the way the E90 drove as opposed to the F30?
Congratulations by the way.

"Haven't you spent enough on cars?" That's the response I normally get from "Her at Home".
Good luck with all the mods.
Still waiting for my new toy - arrives end-March, delivery early April.

My reply to that is always "I can write the money on cars off on tax.. can you do the same with all the money you spend of soft furnishings?"

Bit of BS, but it seems to end the conversation quickly enough

100% down for this. Will it make a difference pricing wise if we're all in different states?

Waste of money. All they end up doing is suck hot air in to your engine and reduce performance, the stock box does a much better job. Just get a drop-in filter by BMC or K&N.

Possibly a little bit, although my intent is to push for the best price possible on a "GB" and then have the vendor ship each order direct (may result in less of a discount but even so!)

Stu - I am looking straight at you!
