JZW Stg 3 Tune makes 413whp

I already posted this in the n55 section by mistake, sorry about that.

I just finished installing my new Stg 3 hardware on my N54 set up with a nice free flow exhaust and big ETS intercooler and then spent a good bit of time data logging and dialing in my new tune and boy does this bad boy sound nice. The power is very consistent and smooth and the torque is great too.

I really love the potential of this N54 set up, it shows great potential.

I put down 413whp and 475wtrq and was very pleased with the results with some E30 fuel and stock turbos. You can bolt on an exhaust, intercooler and good tune and make over 400whp, that is great !

Here is a video me playing around after the install. Just rolling into the throttle at first.

Do you have any baselines by any chance?

Sure, here is stg 1 on a dyno dynamics, 265whp and 320whp with stg 1 tune.

Same Stg 1 tune made 353whp on a dynojet dyno. So, should have been around 293whp or somewhere in that range. I forgot my I flash cable that day, so only got a base line with my cat back exhaust already on the car. Made 307whp on that dynojet with the exhaust and stock file.

Middle dyno is when we put the JB4 piggy back on the car just for comparison, you can see the peak numbers are about the same, but look at the true ecu reflash from 5k out. It is run 1 that is the true Ecu JZW tune.

Thats with SAE correction at that. Should be around 430 whp with STD correction, which most everyone on this platform uses.

I wish it was around 430whp, I think 413whp is pretty good for stock turbos and 16psi of boost. Feels very good. Its nice to be able to get over 400whp with a simple exhaust, intercooler and a quick ecu flash through the diagnostic port.

Its taking its toll on my rear tires :-)

Thanks, I had looked at the different ones, it only made a 2whp difference, best is EEC and 415whp. It did make 432whp the first pull, but spun some on the dyno and could not repeat it...

Guess ambient temp sensors on the dynojet were close to SAE standard then. Oh well it was worth a shot.

I have this tune on my car. It's amazing. The transient response between shifts is smooth and crisp (not that it changed the shift points(my car is manual), the car just feels so smooth throughout the whole power band). Back in the day I never understood why customers were so worried about overwriting the BMW performance tune from the factory. I get it now. It's the way the car drives and handles it self now. It's like a factory tune on steroids. It's hard to describe but i'm extremely satisfied.

I only have the stage 1 tune right now. I received a new file this evening and I will be flashing the stage 3 tune tomorrow.
