Bmc Filters In/ Oem And Charcoals Out
I have just installed BMC filters and took OEM and charcoal filters out...first impressions:
- Throttle response improves, and it feels like the car pulls harder. Not sure about any power gains, maybe a very few hp but only way to know is in a dyno. - Exhaust and Induction sound increase I have done this mod in all my current M cars and previous M cars, and always had the same results; but on the NA cars the exhaust and induction sounds increase even more, especially the induction sound on the e92 M3.

Really? I'm so indecisive about this. I did the charcoal delete only and hardly noticed a difference. Is it really worth the BMCs for sound? Or do I wait for a real intake to come out.

I've been thinking about the bmc's as well. I have the charcoal delete and definitely notice the induction increase. Not sure how much more the bmc would change the sound.

aculeg87...those are my impressions and no need for an intake system for any M car…BMC filters' price is very reasonable, only 165 euros for both and if nothing else they are less restrictive air filters than the OEM ones, and much better quality. They are definately worth IMO, I order them directly from Italy. I have done this mod in four different M cars, and always enjoyed the results.

OP,
I am tempting to do this too. My car has around 10500km now and somehow it just doesn't pull as hard as I felt when I did the test drive with a brand new m5 last summer. Would you mind sharing with me where you order yours from?I have not yet come across those filters to cost me less than $300/pair here in Canada.
