MA emissions - exhaust mods that WILL pass?

Proud new owner of a 2011 e92 m3 here, and I'm curious to see what people here do for exhaust mods. I understand that anything behind the cats is fine, but it seems people have trouble coding the o2 readiness sensors to read "ready", making them fail emissions testing here in MA.

So what do you guys run and what's available for me? I would love to get rid of the primary stock cats as they are extremely restrictive from what I've read, but I also don't want to switch back to stock when emissions time comes.

The only way to get rid of the codes so you could pass inspection is to get your car tuned.

Here are some tunes available for our cars:

ESS, Evolve, BPM, VF, Turners, Bren Tuning, Velos. Make sure the tune you select clears the primary cat codes.

Other than that, you can't do much about it unfortunately.

I don't mind getting a tune, but from what I'm reading, while all of the various tuners hide the CEL received, they can't get the o2 sensors to pass. I know for a fact that Turner's tune will not make the o2 sensors ready 100% of the time as I had e-mailed them earlier this week asking this same question.

By the way, were you by any chance driving from Stoneham to somewhere else on 95 North yesterday(3/27) at about 5 PM? I was behind you a little ways but couldn't catch up due to traffic!

Technically in ma anything that is louder than stock is illegal..

But it's all up to the descretion of the vehicle inspector and the cop that pulls you over for loud exhaust.. obviously any modification to the cats is illegal.. And any emissions related CELs won't pass inspection..

I guess I need more clarification. I've read that storing 1 code is ok for cars of our year (2001+ I believe?) but it looks like there are a total of 4 o2 sensors. Would 4 o2 sensors = 4 codes, or only 1?
