Vista BMW @ Pompano Beach

Vista BMW @ Pompano Beach FL

Don't bother. Maybe I'm being unreasonable but I don't like how they handled my situation with my CPO 328i.

I bought the car from them with 38,400 miles (09) since the purchase I put a total of 6k miles on it, the brake light came on a few weeks ago and I took it into the stealership to have them tell me that it will cost $780 because the ROTORS and pads both have to be changed, car now has 44k

This car was sold to me as a "CPO" I'm sorry but I'd like to think when purchasing a car with a Certified label from BMW it would come with fresh brake pads, wasn't the case. The song their singing is "they don't do maintenance unless maintenance is due" to add insult to injury, they showed me that they changed the REAR brake pads so somehow that is suppose to make me feel better considering they had the car on the LIFT to change the rear but not the front knowing the brake maintenance would come on 5kish miles later? Totally unacceptable IMO

The factory warranty expired on Dec 2012, extended doesn't cover so I'm expected to eat the full cost. So if you're buying a used CPO from there, ask them first what maintenance was done on the vehicle because you could literally be a few thousand miles away from a real expensive maintenance job because they refuse to eat the costs as the dealer before they resell the car to maximize their profits

Thanks for the head's up. Im in FLL and they are close by.

Im looking for a used 7 and want to be as close to $40k as possible
The deals look so much better for non CPO from non BMW dealerships.

SA is "Jim"

I've gone back and forth with them for weeks and the best they can offer me is $691 for the brakes completed (just front) which is the same special they give everyone else.

They changed the rear brake pads when they CPO'd the car even though they had the same lifespan that the front brakes did but didn't think to change the front ones when the car was on the lift? I understand maximizing profits, but it is a pretty ridiculous thing to have to deal with at a BMW dealer.

The actual pad thickness should be in their notes from the CPO inspection. There are different standards for the front and rear pads so replaceing only one set is quite normal.

I understand the frustration and definitely see your POV that it should of all been done BEFORE u bought it since its a "certified" car, but you can order the front brake set from tischer for i think less then 400 and do it yourself in the driveway. Trust me tho be civil with your SA because i can almost guarantee something more significant then rotors and pads will go wrong that you'll want covered under cpo, wait till it starts leaking oil.

Dealing with this dealer/SA is a joke.

As I mentioned previously the best they could offer me was $691 for the FRONT brakes, which is the same deal they give the general public anyway. I sent him back an e-mail saying that I can get OEM parts and an independent shop to do it for nearly $150.00 less and that it may SWAY my decision if they could provide (they being Vista Pompano) a courtesy oil change that is up in 1k miles. He said he sent it to see if it got "approved" and I have heard absolutely nothing back in 3 days.

I didn't think having them throw in an oil change given the circumstances and the fact that the Sales person sold me on "Free oil changes" during the factory warranty period (but failed to mention it ended in 4 months from purchase date).

Just overall disappointing.

Vista is horrible, this is why I only deal with Lauderdale Imports.

Also, you can say all you want about guidelines.. but they have a brand to protect. I owned a Honda S2000 about 6 years ago and I blew the rear differential on the vehicle AFTER the factory warranty had expired, and I didn't get the extended. It was a $3000 repair.

Honda ate the cost, simply for the fact of keeping the customer happy.. BMW makes amazing cars, but customer service @ least at this dealer leaves much to be desired.

I had expressed to them my desire to trade in the car in the near future for a F30 and that this experience would most certainly affect where I did it at.. they didn't care less.

I think your going about it the wrong way. Your posts read like rants which I asusme is how your emails to the SA read as well. You won't get anything that way.
You need to clearly and factually articulate your problem and suggest how they can resolve it in way which is fair to both parties. Leave your emotions out of it. So far I don't see how the dealer has done anything wrong and I don't fault them at all for not offering you free service outside your warranty.
Threatening them with a loss of future business won't do anything. If your complaining about a $700 service they already know you can't afford an F30 anyway.

LOL! Just because I'm not looking forward to paying $700 for a brake job doesn't mean I don't have the money for an F30, but nice of you to make that assumption.

I'll take $520 through Tischer and an independant shop over $691.00, but you must be in the business of throwing money away. I'm not.

With that said, I tried to be civil and just got ignored. I'm moving on, all I can hope for now is that the reviews I've left can keep the next sucker away from the dealer or make them smart enough to check how many miles before any major service is due on any CPO vehicle.

Furthermore had I spent the time to look at the already terrible Dealer Reviews for them on Google I would have been a bit smarter about my purchase, I'm just another one added to the list of many bad reviews. At some point they'll realize that a little customer empathy can go a long way.
