OEM Wheel Widths

I've just discovered something a bit strange about F06/F10/F12/F13 wheel widths.

In the official BMW M6 pricing guide, the 343M wheels are described as being 20x9.0 and 20x10.0 (Part Nos 36112284450 & 36112284451). The 433M standard GC wheels are described as being 20x9.5 and 20x10.0 (Part Nos 36112283402 & 36112283403).

However, when I phoned the parts dept of my local BMW dealer, their system shows the respective front and rear wheel widths of BOTH the 343M AND 433M styles for the F06 GC/F12/F13 applications as being 20x9.5 (ET31) and 20x10.5 (ET19).

I wonder which of these sources contains the correct information?

{As an interesting aside, for the F10 M5 application the front and rear 343M wheels widths are 1/2" narrower @ 20x9.0 (ET34) and 20x10.0 (ET34), with Part Nos 36112283999 & 36112283401, but possibly with a different Part No (36112283400) for the F10 M5 fronts when equipped with M Carbon Ceramic Brakes? (but still 20x9.0 and ET34)}

Will the M6GC specific wheels fit on the F10 M5? I would assume so as I saw both 343 and new M6GC wheels on the Gran Coupes at COTA.

Not sure if this will help but when I had both my stock sets of M5 and M6 wheels together, the M6 wheels were 1/2 inch wider front and rear. Which tells me that the M6 is 20x9.5 and 20x10.5- I have an F13.

Ah, thanks Vic. Funny, they don't look nearly as good as I'd anticipated on the F10.

I dunno Rob I kinda like them! I wonder if they are any lighter than the 343M's though? They look heavier to me.

To add to the discussion, the new 601M wheel option with the Competition Package is wider for both front and rear (according the the M5 ordering guide):

Front: 20x9.5, 265/35 R20
Rear: 20x10.5, 295/30 R20

Does anyone have the Part Nos and offsets for these 601M wheels?

You are correct sir!

The 343M F10 wheels are indeed 1/2" narrower and have different Part Nos than the 343M F06/F12/F13 wheels.

As mentioned above, the fronts are 9x20 ET34 with Part No 36112283999. Rears are 10x20 ET34 with Part No 36112283401

According to my calculations, when retrofitted to an F10 M5, the 433M REAR wheels will be about 21.35mm/0.84" farther outboard versus their standard issue 343M F10 M5 rear counterparts, whilst the 433M FRONT wheels by comparison will only be 9.35mm/0.36" more outboard than the normal F10 M5 343M front wheels.
