Thinking of picking up a set. I am currently using stock 162's on 18" tires, and I'm trying to decide which direction to go. I like the look of 162's, but I've also wanted to go 19" since my 330i and never got around to it. If I go 19", I'll be picking up a set of VMR V710's as well, but what I'd like to know is: does running 19" affect ride feel/ride height? Is there any discernible difference when running a bigger tire other than look? Anything to keep in mind?

19" is the max size you can go without getting a very harsh ride. Most people here are running 19s. PSS is an awesome tire, I have them and I love them. Go for it.

The PSS's are great. They make it a whole new car!

19" will be for sure a tad bit more uncomfortable and make bumps and joints more harsh. However, we're afterall driving a bmw 3 series (sport sedan/coupe/wagon whatever u have) and they weren't really made with comfort in mind to begin with. So the difference between 18" and 19" will probably be not very noticable. However, 19" does have it's aesthetic appeals to some (I have 18" but are very concavish and i think they look perfect, 19" seems a bit too big for me) and also less side wall = more direct feel and grip. With the PSS though again, probably doesn't make a huge difference because it is a phenomenal tire regardless. 18" tires of course cost less as well when time to replace. Good Luck!

Great tires. Mine have about 22,000 miles on them. Should be good for another 5-10,000. They've lasted much longer than the Hankook and Bridgestone RE 050s that i had previously.

I have VMR V710's on 18's with PSS and it's great. Obviously not 19's but it's perfect and the ride is as beautiful as the first day I picked up the car.
good choice and looks beautiful. |
