E92 Sport w/ Apex wheels
I have 07 335 sedan w/ sport suspension. I am considering going with APEX wheels.
Front: 18 x 9 / 31mm offset (Profile 2) / Tires: 235/40. The guide on E90post shows 10mm less on strut and 16mm less clearance to fender Rear: 18 x 9.5 / 22mm offset (Profile 3) / Tires: 265/35. The guide shows 2mm extra on strut and 28mm less clearance to fender Does anyone have these wheels with these sizes and offsets? Any insight as to understanding this clearance from the guide on e90post as to how much you can push out from the standard sizes. Basically asking for a real life opinion. I took measurements, but it is hard to make accurate measurements due to the major rim lip saver on the OEM RF tires. |

Are you going with ec7?
Those will fit easily. Slight fender roll might be needed to rear. Probably not, because you have only Sport pkg. I have arc8 18x9.5 et22 at rear but with 235/40/18. View post on imgur.com

19x9.5" ET22 rear is the lowest offset version of the wheel. You have a pre-lci so you do have more room to fit the wheel. a 265 on a 9.5" ET22 will be close to the fender, but with a roll it can clear. I would prefer the 265 setup and dealing with a roll if it needs it (may clear without issue) vs stretching a tire like a 235 or 245 on the wheel. Another alternative is to run a 255 rear tire size. What tire make and model are you considering running? |

Tweaks / Questions on original setup
Eddy, I appreciate you reaching out. You were my next phone call. I am going with Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
I definitely don't want to roll the fender because I have seen paint flaking and/or cracking over time, even when professionally rolled. So I think the EC-7 Profile 2 (35mm offset) is your next most aggressive setup that will keep me out of trouble while maintaining 265mm tire, correct? I am leaning on the side of caution for the front as well and considering the EC-7 Profile1 (35mm offset) 18x8.5 wheels. Based on what I can see on your website this would be your next most aggressive for my setup, correct? In short, I like the deep dish look. I like the amount of depth it gives. But I plan on doing some track days / solo II events. So I don't really want to rub and I need additional traction (more tire). So that's why I felt 235mm (F) / 265mm (R) with the above wheel setup might meet my needs. I look forward to your feedback. Thanks |
