Cobb stage 2 Catless DPs versus Cel questions

Good evening gentleman, I have been searching this topic front to back for a bit now and have found volumes of conflicting info.

The question is: if I run Catless downpipes AND the Cobb AP stage 2 maps, will there be any type of CEL or other electronic signal, code, notification, e-mail, smoke signal, morse code, or sign language in German?

The reason I'm asking the question is that I have seen info on here stating that "if your not running the stage 2 maps you need the BMS down pipe fix".

This to me doesn't make any sense. If the Stage 2 maps bypass the Cel why can't this be programmed onto other maps? Or is there no computer/cobb bypass and this is all myth and you need a proper cel fix such as the BMS?

Thanks for the help guys.

If you run the appropriate STG2/2+ maps, you will not get ANY cat related codes.

People use DPfix for emissions testing. Cobb will suppress the codes, but that has nothing to do with passing emissions.

Ok thank you. Follow up question. If the Cobb Ap is suppressing the code does why does it fail emissions on an OBD2 check?

It isn't suppressing the codes it is clearing them out as soon as they are generated from what I understand. Any of the cobb maps the require downpipes will autoclear the codes generated from them. Like said above this will not pass emissions it just keeps your CEL from coming on.

Because although it clears the codes the car cannot achieve "readiness" without the dpfix

Ok, Thanks for info guys. Its not a perfect solution. Cell fix it is. I plan on installing catless dp's within the next 2-3 weeks and started realizing that the Cobb may not do all that I need in this case. I come from the sube world and the STi was bit less finicky. I use to have the protune software and a gen 1 AP back on my 2005. Its been a while but I forgot how having to depend solely on pre-made maps can be a pain in the Arse.

Cant wait to see how she does after a little tune session.
