Soak in WD40 of PB Blaster for hours.... hammer around the entire edge and be patient.... it took a while to get mine off.

I saw somewhere there was a huge socket/wrench available. Maybe you'll need one of those to create enough torque to get it off.

Socket or wrench that fits over the screw cap? I tried using a 19 mm socket and extension but no use

I had the same problem. It took me 3 hours. I just didnt hit it hard enough. You probably have alot of dirt and grime keeping it sealed. One thing that (seemed) like it helped was opening the gas cap to let air inside. If its pressurized inside it will make it much harder to turn.

Use a flat head with a big tip and hit it really hard with your rubber mallet. It took me about 5 good hits then it popped free. I also tried soaking in PB for 3 hours and nothing lol.

Also make sure that your turning it counter clockwise.

Me and my son hammered at the sametime on opposite ends obviously going the same way and it cam off no problem. Prior to that it was just me and it was not moving at all!

You are just not shocking it enough to get it loose. Soak it then get a pry bar, the end on those is wide enough to get good engagement on the teeth on the ring, don't use a screwdriver. Next hammer choice is key, rubber mallet is a terrible choice, not enough weight or shock when you strike the bar, a baby sledge is the best choice. Once you have the right tools, don't keep hammering the same spot, go from one side to the other and top and bottom, some are really really stuck and you might end up ruining the ring but it will come off. Hope that helps
