winter tires choice

Hey i wonder if i can put some 245 40 18 blizzak tires as my winter setup?
i have a e90 sport pkg.
i know that tirerack recommand 225/40-18 or 235....
how about 245.
will this size affect the grip of the car?

With winter tires you want to go as narrow as possible for better handling in the snow

I have oem 162 for winter. Ok ill wait a little and get some narrower tires thanks a lot

Best sizes to use would be 225/40R18 or 235/40R18.

If you're asking because you can get a good deal on that particular size tire then yes they will work. I have 225/50R17 on my winter set for the same reason (225/45R17 would be factory size) and they fit fine and theoretically are slightly larger in diameter than 245/40R18.

Question is, what wheels are you using them with? Need to make sure you have clearance in the front - 245 is pretty wide for the front as factory width is 225, have to select offset correctly so you have both strut and fender clearance.
