Tesla Model S sightings vs F10 M5

I'm not sure why the imbalance, but I see at least one Tesla per day but have only seen one F10 M5 in the last year. Is this the same in the rest of the country? world?

BTW - There are no Tesla dealers in Virginia and I'm less than 3 miles from a BMW dealership. Where are all the M5 daily drivers in Virginia?

In SoFL I see between 1-3 Tesla's per day. I see an M5 maybe once every 3-4 weeks.

Never seen a Tesla at all here, saw One other M5 in the last two years.
There can't be many M5's here in the UK.

Tons of Teslas here in Austin. Don't see too many M5's although I know they are out there since the ones at the dealership don't last long.

We have a Tesla showroom, but you can't order one there. Texas laws prohibit the sale without a dealer involved. I guess you either order online or out of state and have it shipped.

When the superchargers go in on I-35 or wherever they are planned, I'm sure you'll see plenty more.

M5 is not a car, it is a trim level. It is a BMW 5 series and there is nothing exclusive about that.

OP you are right. In Northern Virginia I see a Model S every time I drive. The Tesla store in Tysons Corner probably helps out with the sales as every time I past by the store at the mall it seems it had tons of people there. I am also starting to see F10 M5s here too...about once a week.

Raced one last night and kicked it's ass... its definitely a fast car tho. Had me by half a car off the line because I was spinning but after that it was game over.. literally right after the first 15ft.

You're committing a logical fallacy.

You are comparing any Tesla to the highest model of F10 5 Series. The correct comparisons would be:
Tesla S (all chassis) vs BMW F10 (all chassis)
Tesla S P85+ vs BMW F10 M5

In either of this more apples to apples comparisons, the Tesla is more rare.

I haven't seen an M5 or M6 on the road since for at least 3 months. I see a lot of M3s Don't see many Teslas either, other than at their charging station near Bakersfield, that's about 130 miles north of where I live. Orange county probably has more of both.

Interesting. Disagree, but I see why you might hold this opinion.

The entire drivetrain is unique to the M. I'd say that qualifies as a different car.

... Unfortunately that is very true

Anyway, haven't seen any M5 for 3 months in Los Angeles.

In my neck of the woods you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Tesla. In the Walnut Creek, Alamo, Danville area east of SF I see them all the time. I think that they have become the "it" car around here. Nearly bought one myself just before I bought the M5. After much research and test drives I decided that the M was just a better overall automobile and a better value. Probably not a very PC decision for my area but I really don't care. Love my car. F10 M5's are few and far between where I live, I hardly ever see one.

They are easy to spot. Just look for the plume of smoke.
