Looks like more confirmation the F80 M3 has to continue to put up with the butt-ugly cow's udder of a muffler. Akrapovik must be smiling all the way to the order book. Might as well figure on adding $3,500 or whatever to the base price of the car to get rid of that boat anchor!

Wow, exactly. The most striking part of the car from that particular view.

I don't know why people are going on and on about this. I was behind an E93 M3 today and it had the EXACT same issue.

The key word in 540gone's post is "continue." It's been an issue for the M3s for a while, starting from the E46.

Ah. Didn't read it that way. All the complaints I read were related to F80, didn't realize that E90 people had been complaining as well.

Looks like it's going to be easy to remove 30 pounds from the rear end

The ugly part of the rear exhaust showing was most prevalent on the e9X M3's.

It's not nearly as bad on my e46 m3. In fact, you really have to squat down to see it.

Well, that's a good excuse for me to swap it out for an aftermarket exhaust. Thanks, BMW.

Wow that muffler can really is ugly. The E9x is bad but improved by black paint. I don't think black paint is going to help the F8x although a new exhaust will help it out anyway.

Really inexcusable. At least paint the damn thing black.

agree with everyone re: the muffler. is it possible that they're trying to lower the center of gravity? maybe make more room for the trunk and fuel tank? I have to believe they're not doing this just to antagonize all the people on Bimmerpost
