BMW i3 Launch in Hong Kong

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Recently had a look at the i3, we have to make an appointment to see it over here. It costs approx. HK$500,000 (About US$64,000)

I must say its not bad as an environmental car, but its ugly. The car does look a lot better in person than photos though. Like the interior design, and all the new tech.

Range seems pretty bad in my opinion (Full tank showed 120kms).

Don't think it will sell well in Hong Kong, we don't have the infrastructure for the charging part. 99% of population don't live in houses so will have trouble charging their cars if they bought this.

If anyone in HK wants to register to see it, here is the registration link:

It is ironic that "city cars" like the i3 are often less suited to cities because of the apartment charging situations. Everyone I know ( inc me) with an EV has a house and a charger installed there. Most big cities are woefully behind with regard to public charging, and I would guess the average apartment complex owner isn't in a hurry to install a bunch of chargers either. "City" cars seem to be owned by people who live in the suburbs!

Ah ha, but to get to the city!

They are also good daily commuters if your total distance isn't too bad.

I'd love to lease one. It would be perfect for my commute and to keep mileage off of my Z3 M Coupe.

You have got to be slightly out of your mind. What exactly do you think this car is for? The Prius is nothing but a plugin. There is no full EV option on Prius. Prius is a hybrid at best. It uses oil!!!!
