325i hard turn noise

Hi there

I just discovered that our 325i 2.5 makes a nasty sound while doing hard turns at low rpm. I've put a short video on youtube so you can see for yourself:

I really hope somebody can guide me on this issue.

To what I hear. Is it that loud click close to the end of the video you speak of?

That grindy sound pretty much points to your power steering fluid being low. Check for a leak on the system if it is.

Yes, it's the loud click close to the end.
I've just checked the power steering fluid level and it seems just fine. Any other ideas?

Hi

Well a few days after the vehicle decided to dump most of it's coolant on the highway. It got towed to the shop and they replaced the water pump. Since I got it back I have not been able to reproduce the sound. Is the power steering system entirely decoupled from the cooling system or could the sound have been caused by a bad water pump?

Two completely unrelated items - water pump is of course electric whereas the power steering pump is driven by the serpentine belt from the engine. Very strange issue, maybe just behaving...
