ABT have released details of their biggest Geneva Motor Show 2014 debut, the latest generation ABT Audi RS6-R. The ABT Audi RS6-R kit will be limited to just 25 cars worldwide. This car is an assault on the senses!

The ABT Audi RS6-R gets a power boost applied to the 4.0 litre V8 engine. The ABT RS6-R produces 730 hp, up from the standard 560 hp. Torque rises from 700 Nm up to 920 Nm. The ABT Audi RS6-R has a topspeed of 320 km/h. The extra performance comes courtesy of an ABT Engine Control unit, specially developed software and a specially adapted stainless steel exhaust system – including a Y-pipe and sport-type catalytic converter.

For the suspension, an ABT height adjustable spring kit is available. ABT also fit a set of Dunlop high-performance tyres specially selected for the RS6-R, which wrap a set of 22 inch ABT DR alloy wheels.

Selected parts of the bodywork have been constructed from an exposed red carbon fibre. They include the front lip with its side blades, the air inlet covers including flics, the side skirt attachments with side blades and the rear skirt. The mirror caps, fender inserts and a rear spoiler complete the imposing look.

ABT also added a bespoke interior with ABT badging and discreet embroidery, carbon-shift paddels and LED-shifting lights on the steering wheel to help find the perfect gear shift moment. There are also bespoke red carbon fibre elements.

Another slap in the face for US potential buyers that Audi USA won't bring over the RS6; (which IMHO blows away the RS7 in looks; utility, etc especially in sedan form).

Does this have a DCT? Yes I'm lazy to google. Biggest buzzkill for me on the RS7 was that boring automatic. Audi puts the DCT on the S7 but not on the RS7 :/

Well thank them for keeping me a loyal BMW customer. Same credit goes to Benz on using a regular auto on the E63 & CLS63.

I would be a sucker for a V8TT, rear biased AWD & DCT.

The 4 banger in the CLA45 isn't going to cut it...

The RS6 has a 8-speed tiptronic (auto) yes...

The E63 AMG and CSL63 AMG doesn't quite use a "regular auto". It has what MB calls a MCT. Which basically is a auto transmission but without a torque converter. Instead of the converter it uses a wet clutch. The MCT isn't regarded as anywhere near as good as the DCT in the M5 though

The sedan version is called the RS7... But I don't think Abt has made a 730hp version of the RS7...

I have AMG's with MCT. It's nowhere near as capable as the DCT. It's just not responsive.. it feels like there's a computer processing your requests.

Whereas with DCT it's near instant and your requests are translated into an action almost instantly - not "thought about",

This is true having owned 5 MCT's (and three bi turbos) but there is the caveat of being able to tune the bi turbos with this tranny and not worry about there being too much tq... most tuned MCT bi turbos are running almost or over 700 lb ft of WHEEL tq which the DCT can not handle.

I agree the paddle shifts on the MCT are worthless- the electronics are not dialed but with a tune the response of the throttle in D mode and S+ is quite good. Maybe its just the rush of tq I feel LOL

And I have had my share of DCT's including the GTR, M3, M5, M6, and 3 P cars (997.2TT, 991C4S, 991 TTS). The PDK in the Turbo S is hands down the best of the lot. The GTR was the worst. I applaud BMW for putting a DCT in the 2009 M3 which I had; that was almost 5 years ago.

I just cannot understand why Audi does not bring RS6 to NA, if they want to compete with AMG and M, RS7 does not play, it's RS6.
