Z4M suspension on bumpy roads..

I don't mind the harsh ride, but I think the suspension can't handle any bumps.
Going through a highway, almost lost control after hitting a small bump. My previous cars with PSS coils handled bumps very well.
Is there any suspension upgrades that would improve this?

supposedly H&R springs will aid in fixing this.... i jut spoke with Sam at Autotalent and they will do this for $280 shipped right now, which is about $4.00 less than tire rack, which were the cheapest i had found them up until this point.

i have my car fitted with hr springs. I did purshased my car used with the hr on it BUT, if the oem springs are stiffer than HR, its a total fiasco. ride is so stiff with hr.

ps: do you have some contacts e-mail so , I can discuss with the guy that want to sell you hr springs ?

I have H&R springs and reinforced mounts (engine, transmission, rear shocks). I did notice a "harsher" ride, but I do think it handles the bumps a little better then stock. Almost like riding on them instead of bouncing over them - crude way of explaining it.

I actually like how the car moves with the curves and bumps. Gives you a lot of feedback - which many cars lack. What's so great about smooth driving when you have a sports car??

The H&R springs, at least for the Z4M, have poor build quality consistencies. Some peole have experienced spring noises on their Z4M's, while others (including me) experienced no problem.

Sounds more like install error.

Moupe, a poster over on Bimmerforums, had the same complaint about the H&R springs, and is much happier with the coil-over kit. I just posted a picture of his car in the "Official Sapphire Black" thread, it's the one with HRE C20s.

Possibly. But then again one guy that had problems with the H&R springs owns a wheel shop that deals with mostly high-end cars and frequently deals with suspensions.

With all respect, a coil-over kit is going to be better than just a spring upgrade, most days of the week - so I'm not surprised!

I find the H&Rs ride much better on the road than the stock springs. On the track, there's probably not much in it. The stiffer stock springs could be said to be better, but then you have a lower CoG with the H&Rs...

I'll still be upgrading to coilovers in the new year, but the H&Rs have done me well in the meantime.
