For those of you that have unhooked your battery.

You just unhooked the negative terminal under the toolkit in the trunk and left it off for how long?

When Ive done that before in my other vehicles, everything gets reset. Did that happen to you too or does it have a memory for that within a certain time frame?

I unhooked the black negative terminal wire for 1 hour (as Eugen had suggested to 'reset' the ECU so it adapts to the PROcede v2 right away) and the only thing I had to reset was the clock. All my other settings seemed to be ok...my sat radio stations, my seats, my navi address book, etc.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. One hour though huh? That seems a bit excessive.

I kept the battery disconnected ,when I firstly installed my procede, for 2 or 2,5 hours.

The only thing that has beenm reset was the fuel consumption & clock.

Alex, why are you planning on unhooking your battery? New mod?

No, Ive been losing boost. I want to see if the ECU didnt overthink itself somehow. I went from high 13's in boost to a consistant high of 11.2lbs all day yesterday. Car is feeling not so exciting anymore. Figured a battery disconnect might wake it from its slumber.

Your car probably feels like mine now. lol! Since mine only gets up to 11.5 lbs. of boost.

This used to be the case but DO NOT do this anymore - they have found that it can cause a voltage spike and damage control units. so dont do it...
Disconnecting the negative for 1 hour provides a full "battery reset" and causes all control units to fully power down. The 16minute rule only applies to older cars E46-e38-e39 etc. 16 min on an e90 will NOT reset all control units

No shit? I'll take your word given your screen name. The guy that told me that was the dealers main 335 tech too. I hate misinformation. Thanks for the update.

This is interesting in that Siemens must be designing the DME, etc. to disconnect any load, except memory, when external power is lost. Otherwise and without some substantial capacitors, the charge would be depleted nearly imediately.

With all these sensitive computers in the car, this makes sense.
BTW, so far I never disconnected the battery. On my last dealer visit (I had to ) they did it and all my indications and radio were f...up!

use a fused jumper wire and jump the neg cable to the pos cable, you only have to do it for like 5 minutes.

Just wait for the updated v2.0.2 map and do the ECU reset via unhooking the black negative terminal wire for 1 hour.

Apparently, this is something most people will have to do every now and then with the PROcede. The ECU's ARE adapting to it...

If so, it would not be PROcede specific. Why are you so sure ?
