Best BMW Service Dept Long Island
Im sure there are a few post but a quick search did not find it. I just moved to East Northport and the girlfriends E82 is still under maintenance/warranty. Which would you go to near the border of Nassau and Suffolk? I went to haberstad years ago and thy were idiots so any other advice for the area would be much appreciated.
I have a list of shit I need them to replace on her car so a contact would also help. Thanks guys

Smith town is awesome as long as you have a warranty. If you don't they will rape you!!!! And they sometimes try to say things are not covered under warranty. Only good thing about them is they give cool loaners out lol

I've never been to Smithtown myself, since I'm closer to Rallye. But Dennis @ Rallye will take good care of you. Also, I've never bought a car from them, and they still gave me a loaner outside my factory warranty period.

Make sure you don't just tip the SA, all he does is give you a loaner. Tip the mechanic also. If anything give the mechanic more money he's the one doing all the work to your car.

Sad to say if you want your car done right, you gotta tip them. Especially if you have aftermarket parts. They will look past some things and help you out. They will try harder to help you out. THese people are left alone with your car. They can screw you in so many more ways than you can think of lol |

I had a good experience at Smithtown when it came to getting my injectors replaced under warranty and my turbos replaced under warrant (wastegate rattle). However, during that same visit they would not fix my adaptive headlight under warranty and did not give me a good reason why it wasn't covered (they said there was a possible short in the headlight or the controller which caused my adaptive headlight failure code to pop up once every month or so).
My second visit to Smithtown was to replace just one tire after I got a flat. The SA that did my intake was a little older and he was a dick. He treated me like shit from the beginning, almost as if he assumed I was a cheap person because I was young and wasn't dressed up too nice. When they said it was $320 for a new tire I laughed and said I would just get one online since I can get run flats for $150 online. He said "BMW parts are expensive, whatever it is you're buying doesn't belong on a BMW." Hurr durr. Fuck off dick. |

I will call Rallye today and see how they treat me on the phone. I know what needs fixing on her car because its an n52 and I do all the work on my n51. Just comes down to if they trust that I know what I'm talking about. Who was the SA that you got the first time at Smithtown?
Thanks guys

I'll second vote for Dennis at Rallye.
He paid close attention to detail and noted some mods as I pulled into the service bay for warranty work. He provided a loaner car despite the phone rep being "100% sure all loaners are gone for the day". They didn't give me any problems with the mods and replaced several other parts (valve cover gasket, 1 coil) because I was about to come off warranty. Rallye will get my business for both service and purchases in the future. The only negative thing I could say about them is that their parts are marked up more than most other dealers. |

Sorry guys been swamped at work but yes they are not taking any new clients and Dennis is no longer there so I spoke to Simon and he said he would call as soon as they lifted that halt on new business. I was going to try and call smitthown today. I let you know what they say.

Local! I'm in Huntington, maybe I'll see you around. I just got my e90 a few weeks ago, I used habberstad's service recently and I was pleased. The kids who direct the cars in weren't the friendliest but the service writers seemed cool.
