Part 2 PICS 991 C2S - Temporary Bye F10 M5 - Hello P-car!

As promised here are the pics....following the first thread http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=954659

After three months of waiting, the car arrived this week just as ordered back in January and I finally picked it up today. This is my first 911. It is my third Porsche having owned two 944s previously and plenty of other sports cars and high performance cars over my lifetime. I currently own a 2012 e92 M3 Frozen Silver Edition, a 2003 AP1 S2K and this brand new 2014 991 C2S. I just parted ways from my 2013 F10 M5 6MT after a year and 18K miles, (magnificent car, probably will get another 6MT at the end of F10s cycle), to make room for this new 911.

All I can say after just a few miles is that I have not felt this way about a car experience since I got my 2002 E39 M5. That was my first true high performance car which left me speechless and smiling after a few miles, same feeling with this new 911.

THIS CAR IS DRIVING NIRVANA!

Here the specs and some pics (the car was wrapped and tinted before delivery):

Wow I gotta say that looks pretty damn sexy. I'm not sold on the wheels though. It's just me, I don't like black wheels, for that murdered out look. I love the 911 Carrera S on the Doors in Silver, looks fantastic. Take more pictures and video if you can. Thank for sharing.

Very nice, and tastefully done. I have the clear tail lights on mine also, and the 7 speed manual which is flawless very easy to drive. Love black, but too hard to keep clean however stunning.

RPiM5, thank you for your comments. I understand, black wheels are tough. I was not planning to get black wheels again since my other two cars also have black wheels, but after a lot combinations I thought these were the best match for the build.

BTW, thanks for your feedback and good info in the forum

That is a great looking car. Any reason you went Carrera S vs Turbo?

YES, NA engine and Manual Transmission.

I thought about the GT3 before the Turbo but in both cases they are only offered with PDK.

Interesting thought as the NA engine is a big difference compared to the turbo related sound. The M5 was my 2nd turbo car, and I do prefer the NA feel/sound. I wanted the 7 speed manual with the Porsche, and the DCT with the M5 which serves a different purpose. The P-Car is my alone time, and drive it like you stole it which is a blast.

Interestng fact the 991S has the same performance if not better than the GT3 997. I will get a 991 GT3 once all the hype dies down, and the engine fix gets corrected.

I prefer NA engines and MT myself, to me is all about the senses I like feel things, hear, touch, smell...

When it comes to the sound it is night and day...NA all day all night...
F1 needs to go back to NA ASAP!!!

I actually prefer the F10 M5 manual as well, specially in car like the M5 which is so well insulated that can feel a little numb and I personally like to be as connected as possible to a car.

After all of that I do like DCT or PDK transmissions as well. My E92 M3 is DCT and love it.

Plain and simple I like to drive...

We are all nit-picking these days, first world problems...these are amazing engineered machines to be enjoyed in whichever way each one prefers.

But I go back to feel, we are humans after all not robots! I do not want to become one in an electric car!

I love it but then I love the 991 chassis. The wheels to me fit the car with the machined border and the split five as they offset the badges, tail lights, and door lettering... on my C4S I just pulled the side mufflers and replaced with bypass pipes (Sharkwerks has them) and the already loud burbles and pipe fires became battleship gun like- VERY NICE.

Straight piping is not really a great call on these cars as that would cause tremendous drone. Try just doing the bypass pipes first which are very cheap and very easy to install (30 min). Ive done a lot of research on exhaust on this car via my personal ownership and what a lot of owners on 6speed have said (I think you are there too) and headers will be nasty loud.
