Anyone ever get their brake calipers painted (those that aren't already colored)? I've always really liked that look, and can't be that expensive (can even do it yourself). And dumb question, would that violate the warranty? I'm assuming not.

Check out TireRack for the colored paint kits. Have done it on all my cars for years, new and old and no warranty issues. Keeps them from turning the dark brown color, and washes easily for brake dust issues.

Remove wheels, and you can paint them without removing caliper. It takes MORE careful in place cleaning, rinsing and masking but that was no "work" just tinkering pleasure.

Now I did have car up on stands, so all four corners could be painted at same time. Hardener in paint tends to work fast---too fast for removing one and then trying to raise next corner for removal. Properly up on stands, you clean, prep and mask all of them at same event. Results were splendid--as you do use a brush, but it smoothes out nicely. Nice crackin' job.

Kit last I purchased was 40USD, and plenty of paint and cleaner. Might as well try it.

I have the blue brakes on mine, but I have painted calipers on previous cars. The biggest trick is making sure it is well-prepped (clean all the brake dust off) before painting. The spray kits are easy so use, and I've done it both by removing the caliper and leaving it on. If you are going to leave the caliper on, be sure to tape the area around it off well.

I also had a brake shop paint them on one of my vehicles. It was the middle of the winter, and I didn't want to spend a couple hours in my garage, so I bought the paint online and took it to a local shop and had them do everything for me.

No warranty violation.

I've done it on multiple cars, First car was a red mustang and I painted the calipers red, second was black altima coupe and I painted those yellow. I used the duplicolor caliper paint kit. It comes with the paint, a wooden dowel to mix the paint, a brush, and a brake cleaner. Very easy to apply. Like anything else, do light coats. I did 3 coats and it came out brilliant. Whole process doesn't take long, definitely not worth paying someone to do it. Here's some before and afters.

Just my personal opinion but I'd stay away from blue bc that's the M brake color. Have you considered red at all? I think it would look really good and pick up the tail lamp color. I think orange reflectors (if you keep them) with yellow brakes and red tail lamps is a lot of colors from the same family. Purely coming at this from an aesthetic perspective w a bit of a background in graphics design.

yea I've been painting my callipers every since my first car VW CC and now on my F30. On the CC i had red brake callipers. I can't find a picture of it, got a new computer =/.
