M5 vs 2014 Corvette Stingray

What's faster in a straight line / highway / stoplight scenario...?

Vette has 100 less horses... But it's prob a good 800 lbs less.

Thoughts?

Take a look at this video C7 2015 but QMile 10.6 sec at 134 mph that means Z06 may be sub 10 and sub 3 !! Wow!

That C7 isn't close to stock , it was FI or had nitrous . The fastest Z51 trap stock has been 121 mph with ET 'a in the 11.6 -9 range .Its ECU was cracked day one and there are
Cams. , exhaust , tunes , supercharger , nitrous setups , you name it available . Some are already making over 1000 whp FI .

Agreed. That C7 is SOOOO NOT STOCK!!! Lol. I spent MANY hours at the strip (driving, pit-crew and spectating)... that car is NOT stock in any way shape or form.

No chance a stock c7 goes 130 plus LOL in the quarter--- it would take a dynamically modded c7 to get there.

That being said the C7 Z06 will definitely trap much higher in the 1/4 mile than even the mighty 991 Turbo S and beat just about anything around the track . So the fact that it's setting track records with no power advantage speaks volumes about how good the chassis is .

Why the m4 will be my last ride with BMW for awhile... I can't stand how locked up their ECUs are...

ontopic c7 z51 is not worth it lmao I couldn't find a dealer that would sell it to me below MSRP... I'm not paying MSRP+ when I can get German cars for near invoice or at.

The weight difference is closer to 1000#. The lightest C7 weighs just over 3300, the heaviest (excluding verts) weighs 3450.

The C7 has a very small p:w advantage. At a drag strip it's a drivers race. With two good drivers the C7 will likely cross the line first but the M5 will trap higher.

The biggest difference is the gratuitous aftermarket support for the C7. You can already get….

Heads
Cams
Throttle plate nitrous kits
Multiple supercharger kits avail, several more in the works
Turbo kit
Canned tunes, custom tunes, homemade tunes
Big cube built motors

Yeah, but seriously they are beautiful and proof is I was at the gym and it's LA Fitness so from the 2nd floor I was looking at this beautiful Lambo Convertible and was a side profile so wasn't able to see rear or front and was about 100 yards away and Lo and Behold it turned out to be a convertible Stingray so Kudos needs to go to GM!!

It looks good and I like it a lot better than the C6 and all that plastic, but you can still clearly see its still significantly lacking in the luxury department, granted most people spending 60k+ on an american sports car probably think its super luxurious, but the steering wheel and some of the remaining plastic still had a cheapness about it.
