One would have to assume that was the case although it doesn't seem to make much sense. Hopefully it is just a short production constraint.

Was just told my New Car Sales Manager that there are only 82 allocations (total) for the M60i in the United States, at least for now. I could be wrong but I think there are around ~400 dealerships, which means many won't be getting one.

So even though 3M2 is supposed to be the default, if you want red calipers, definitely double-check with your SA and make sure it is selected. |

As for the dealership, I used BMW of the Woodlands near Conroe, TX. They are an average-sized dealership, at least for the Houston area, and they told me they only received a single M60i allocation in the first batch. That supports the initial numbers being fairly low nationwide. They also told me no one else had even asked about it yet, which surprised me a bit. |

https://www.bmwusa.com/owners-manuals.html I am interested to see how distance control is handled now that those buttons are no longer on the steering wheel. This is from the '22 manual- Last edited by mobsync; 03-22-2023 at 01:59 PM.. Reason: Added picture |

I tried entering my VIN along with a couple other 2024 X5 VINs from cars.com listings and I get "An error has occurred" on the owner's manual page.
Regarding the cruise control distance, if it's like the X7 I played around with at the dealership, it's in the "Driving Settings" app under "Distance Control." I couldn't find a shortcut for it anywhere else and my SA said he didn't think there was one. |

The crazy thing is the first dealership I called... they barely seemed interested in working with me, and I was having trouble even setting up an appointment to talk about ordering a car. In retrospect, it might've been a blessing in disguise and if I had gone with them, I might still be waiting on an allocation.

Hey
Bought the same car. S68 engine has been in the X7 m60i bugs gone. New MASSIVE dash the same. All the rest is carry over from m50i Would've been worried with the X7 when fresh and new, BMW didn't mess with X5 top seller Nore the old days with the 3 series when it was a global winner. Even the latest 3 series didn't have vomit grills to keep bmw love. Your build options are great in the US, in Australia we have loaded with not wanted options and missing wanted. Still can't wait easy sub 4 second |

N54 had a mile of induction pipework with intercooler B58 had F1 type short and cooled in heads but massive radiator water. Full boost at lights with zero airflow needed. If want details can upload so cool. N54 didn't close off all the engine hot water to keep heat to reduce restart wear. Also the new pistons and cylinders that had never been used the new texh. Or vanos changes or so many other things. Even the block of the b58 is the same as the diesel hence big aftermarket HP to same different parts and shares parts with the new range. 1.5 2.0 3.0 petrol or oil burners. The S68 is a NEW engine with almost not a shared part of the s63. So many journalist are to blame for the miss information. They wrote a modified s63 even thought BMW said the opposite to them. New engine. New gearbox. New manifolds. New electric motor and generator on crank shaft. The engine is a full M built motor with a detuned over the X5M that gets heaps more power. BMW says X5 m60i it's the same as X5 m60i even thought 7kw and 200nm electric has to be added. Also it's a solid motor. |

Planning on placing our order in the next week or two for an M60i. Im on the fence about suspensions offered though. Any one have some input or feedback on the Adaptive M Suspension vs. Air Suspension? I guess in my head I just think the Air ride would be prone to problems and issues down the road. Give me the Variable M and if I ever wanted to do a HAS kit down the road thats always an option.
Thoughts?
