Awesome journal, thanks for sharing. I love mountain adventures. I wish a European adventure was in my budget right now.

How did you get a hud on the dashcam? Is it for a specific dashcam?

No, you can use any dashcam which captures gps information and then overlay using Race Render.

What a trip...

Probably not the smoothest filled with plenty of events, but surely memorable, especially for your daughter.

Awesome that you three made it out safely.

Congrats.

Nice write up, looked like a good trip. We did a similar one last year and cant wait to do it again. We must have been really lucky with the weather though, bright blue skies every day bar one. Grimsel pass was a personal favourite of mine, we did it about 3 times I think we liked it that much!

Great trip...
... a lot of the passes we've been driving in previous years. Always a lot of fun driving over there. Swiss (border)police may seem severe, but in reality it doesn't be that much of a deal. Just cooperate and you'll be on your way in no time.

...I did a road trip with a friend of me myself last week of about 3800KM (2350mls). Both in a 4-series, mostly though France.

First the Route Les Grandes Alpes (with de Small and Big Bernard passes, you've also taken) from Lausanne to Nice. Then via de CrĂȘtes du Verdon, Route Napoleon, Savoie, Jura and the Vosges back to The Netherlands.

I did the Route des Grande Alpes back in 2014, all the way from Lake Geneva down to the Med.

Might have to revisit that :)

She drives separately as she loves driving as well.

I use Race Render Pro to overlay the data.
Seems like this is software... what hardware was used? Go Pro? Any additional hardware needed to capture the GPS data? Phone? OBD 2 Reader? I'm not 100% clear.
