Not a very good impression from Autoblog.

Humble mentionings of 5er Touring are nice to see as alternative :)

That website used to be my go-to and they've bastardized the layout of the website so much it's unreadable.

Anybody noticed that you need an android to unlock the door if you have that feature yet the main infotainment only supports CarPlay?

Yeah. Title of thread is sort of misleading. When I read the title, I was expecting all the reviews to praise the X5 but the first link I clicked, it was an average review. Great car but pretty much more of the same from BMW and the X5.

With that said, can't wait to test drive it.

Meh. If the handling is as diabetic as every previous X5, then I won't even give it a second look.

After watching one of the videos where a 6'-1" guy barely had enough legroom in the back seat, I'm concerned if a baby seat will fit back there w/o having to pull the passenger seat up.

I'm not so sure that isn't just him. Watch the video from Carwow. The host (who says he is 6') sits behind someone driving and has tons of room, about 6"+ of room between his knees and the driver. He said there was more than enough room in the second row. I think the guy from autogefuhl just had a weird set up.

I'm 6'1", currently have an F15 X5 and actually prefer sitting fairly far back when driving. I've had 3 different car seats (from infant to convertible to booster) and no issues fitting any of them in the rear driver side seat. Front leg room is roughly the same and rear leg room is an inch longer in the G05 so I have to imagine you aren't going to have a problem.

I was very impressed with the X5 and look forward to trading my X3 M40i next year

Carwow's host is 5'10" as far as I remember, but yeah quite surprised about Autogefühl's lack of rear leg room. Needs to be tested IRL.

Interesting..

all these reviews show a Blue 40 X5 in X Line design..

You can't get the M sport brakes on that vehicle... only on the M sport
line... atleast on the BMWUSA configurator..
The ordering guide says the brakes require msport OR convenience tier.

You are right that the configurator won't allow it.

Kinda not really what one would call rave reviews but will wait until the Australian launch in mid-late October. Need to see a production car in person and take one for a drive. Looking through the recent flood of photos and videos the wheel arch vs wheel/tire size looks very awkward - maybe to facilitate those who want the off-road option. The overall G05 wheel/tire diameter is exactly the same as my F15 so I'll be able to do a direct visual comparison.

If in person the overall style passes the test I still need to solve the black wheel and grill problem. Grill I've got worked out but wheels remain a problem. M50d comes with 22" (no other option) wheels - rural roads not good plus don't like the look. I'll go with air suspension (giving up Adaptive M Suspension Professional) but really want 20" or 21" wheels/tires. AND the wheels must be black, period no compromise.

At this point the prospect of me going ahead with my December M50d build slot is 50/50.

A bit bummed that the X5 diesel won't make it here stateside

These reviews are fairly meaningless since they aren’t done on the turf of the reviewers and time driven is pretty short. It will be interesting when longer reviews are done. I like Alex on Autos since he really goes through cars over 20 minutes. Car and Driver will most likely do something longer also.

One thing I do expect. Early problems. Way too much new tech that will need to be sorted out. Will be fun to see in person.

Saw that, also, the rear charging ports will only charge a blackberry ;)
