Stunning.

Would have ordered these if the 746/742 didn't come as a package with m sport exhaust and metallic paint.

Will post 746 pics when I get them.

Awesome!

MystroX5, thanks for sharing your photos. I too got the 20" in 740m. I choose from the crappy images on the build your own site. Your photos really make me happy I chose those that style. They look awesome.

I like the 740M because it's a good balance between being classy and sporty. Can't wait to see them in person in a few weeks. Keeping them clean will be a bitch though.

They look even better than my pics show. Very high end looking and bigger than pics show. There is no way I could go any bigger driving across country and the roads around Philly and NY are brutal.

This post might be the best endorsement yet of the capability of this beautiful inline 6. I, too, used to go for the BMW V8's, but never M's.

My current car is a F30 328. I ordered the smaller engine because the performance was more that I would ever use. My wife warned me that I'd never be happy without the big engine but I assured her I'd be fine. 5 years later I couldn't be happier with my smaller engine choice. We just ordered my wife's X5 40i. Again, we struggled with the choice of engines. With 0-60 in the low 5's (some say 4.9), I'm was pretty certain it wouldn't disappoint. Your post is very reassuring that we made the right choice in going with the 40i.

I have to say its nice to be at a place in life where you can afford what you want and choose to not get the biggest/baddess example.

For those of you who chose the 50i, congratulations. From the posts I've read, you all got a real beast, worthy of a lot of grins each time you start the engine. I'm a bit jealous, but still at peace with the decision to go with the 40i.
I battled with myself for 2 weeks as I had pretty much decided on an M5 (they are a real beast). Went down and drove the M5 and was looking at the X5 and my salesman told me to take it out and drive it and let him know what I thought. I was so impressed with the car, I ordered one and saved $50K. I can get another toy for $50K. And not loose my a__ when I. Would get rid of the M5. 73 is time to start slowing down. You will be very happy with your 40i.

Has anyone seen pictures for the 741 M wheels... but the M50i-only version? (So code ZXN - not the code 1XN pictured in this thread.) I believe the ZXN bi-color is black vs. the 1XN bi-color gray. Very similar but based on Ordering/Pricing Guides and now-forgotten non-US configuration site... definitely not the same wheel.

Having a tough time picking from one of the 5 available wheel choices for M50i build.

They were available on any M-sport regardless of engine.

Dry conditions,no difference
Wet conditions cornering can be felt, slight understeer.
Snow, can't say, it hasn't snowed around here for 4-5 years.

Speed index up to 210km/h fine

Am I the only one with 20s? My old vehicle had 22s, and I figured I would be responsible this time with our horrible roads for a little better ride.
No,you're not the only one. I've ordered 20" on my X5 40i M-sport, but its Style 740M.

I think the 21" and 22" look great and congrats to those who stepped up and ordered the upgraded wheels. They look amazing. But I'm at a stage of my life where comfort and practicality are more important to me. I've had the big rim, low profile staggered set up with high performance summer tires and I loved them. But, the ride is harsher, the tires cost a fortune and they wear out twice as fast. Now, for me, 20's with all-season with a decent wear rating is the thing. I'm just hoping to see a clean photo of the Style 740M wheels to see what I've ordered. They look good to me on the configurator, but real-life photos or seeing them in person will reduce my anxiety. Enjoy your 20's. For some, bigger isn't always better ;)
Hope these photos help. I just went to a local dealership this afternoon to see how the 740M wheels look.
